Incredible that people here say that it is his own fault that he died, I mean what are we talking about here? Just a bag with pot? In The Netherlands the police spend their time a lot better and only chase people for owning hard drugs. This man died in vain and the police there could use a First Aid course too.

I searched out Andrews last moments to make a decision myself and not by what others felt. A needless death Andrew faced with choices he made along with choices the officers made. I personally feel having the 'reality tv' present could have influenced the officers to act as they did. After watching the incident three times, I see where the taser 'in my opinion' should not have been used. Having three officers to one guy without a weapon, they should have been able to get him into custody without using a weapon that could cause death. I realize the young guy put the baggie in his mouth but did he swallow it when he got tazed is my question. Watching the body language of the officers and Andrew, I dont feel the officers handle this situation properly. Regardless of what Andrew did 'with the baggie' the officers should have 'man handled' him to get him under control rather than use the tazer on him. Again,this is my personal opinion. May God help Andrews family find peace and the officers.

I'm amazed at all the comments defending this guy. He is the sole person to blame for his death!!! He chose to start the conflict, he wouldn't obey the police's orders, and he was STUPID to try to swallow a baggie full of pot. Quit blaming the police when idiots like this die. The police have an impossible job to do, and they deserve some latitude in doing that job. People need to take more responsibility for their actions, and quit blaming authority figures when they get caught or something like this happens. No sympathy here.

Any death is tragic, whether gay or straight. Mr. Grande’s death was the result of a chain of poor choices: an alleged assault, possession of an illegal substance, trying to hide the illegal substance by swallowing it and then resisting arrest, which led to the tazering. I am not saying the police were faultless. However, if you break the law and resist arrest, odds are immediately against you. If you are ever in a situation with law enforcement, COMPLY. Do as you are told and be quiet. Resisting or fighting with an officer who carries deadly weapons and who can use deadly force is not worth it, especially if you are doing something illegal.

Honestly Im shocked that the kid was that dumb to eat the bag with the drugs, the police were very wrong on tasering him, that was not needed.. Police have too much authority and need to be taken down a peg. I feel bad for the kid because he was so young but he should have known better then to eat the bag lol. its beyond me honestly. People will do crazy things when the cops are involved but I never though that... hmmm well I dont understand why the Police were called just because he shoved some girl out his car, he was gay why would he be involved with a female? I truely feel bad for his family. My heart goes out to them, people I hope learn from this and do things smarter from now on. They Def did not need 3 police officers on hiss ass, completely uncalled for. One would have been fine.

It appears to me that he was trying to tell the cops he was having trouble breathing when he was down on the ground. Then he sits up only to get tasered. The Heimlich maneuver the cop was trying didn't look like he was starting low enough. It looks more like he's in the guy's chest and the Heimlich is supposed to have your fists down by the belly button. Chaos and confusion, no doubt. Push a girl, get 911 called on you, swallow the baggie, get tasered, and die at age 23. Sad.

What an awful tragedy-my heart goes out to all that knew him. The police are going crazy with the use of tasers-it's like the toys they never had as kids. Every week someone is dying from the use of tasers and hopefully something will be done about it-this video is frightening to look at and I can't imagine what his family must be feeling now.

I doubt if it has anything to do with him being white, it's still sad, still excessive use of force for 3 police officers on an un-armed man and three police officers are called to respond to some guy "pushing a girl". I'll bet a million battered women in this country wishes the police department would respond like that to domestic abuse. There something about this story that is just bizarre. Maybe people will forget this story Keith, there are millions of people who die whom we will forgot about, but it won't be because he's white. Besides if he was a black un-armed man they would have just shot him in the back 60 times...oh wait that's the NYPD. This is not the first taser-related death either.

You mean to tell me THREE POLICE OFFICERS on the scene couldn't subdue one 23 year old kid? Are police officers that weak nowadays? Was the DEATH PENALTY warranted in this case? Was this kid wanted for some heinous crime, some brutal murder? No, apparently he "pushed" the girl he was with. Too bad he's a white kid instead of black. The newsmedia will soon forget about this case---if they haven't forgotten about it already.
