DAN CHOI X390 (DAN CHEUNG) | ADVOCATE.COM

Lt. Daniel Choi, a West Point grad and Iraq war veteran who faces dismissal from the Army under “don’t ask, don’t tell,” was interviewed on ABC’s evening news Tuesday night. Choi, who is one of the most outspoken opponents of the antigay military policy, tell’s ABC’s Martha Raddatz that “don’t ask, don’t tell” is a violation of the honor code he swore to uphold on his first day at West Point. See video of the interview below. Read The Advocate’s report from Tuesday afternoon’s Senate hearings on “don’t ask, don’t tell” here

Mark is so right. This study year will be used by the Republicans and the right-wing media to derail any real change. Obama simply is ineffective in actually getting anything done. He lacks the decisiveness and will to hold people responsible: no one in Congress fears him. They know there will be no consequences for their bucking him on anything, whether it is health care or DADT. Look for people like Webb to begin wavering.

It costs around $46,000 to drum someone out of the military if they resist on any level. We spent $2,500,000 last time around. And people wonder why children go hungry in America. We're proud of you Lt. Choi!

    Comment:

They never talk about the millions upon millions of our tax dollars wasted on this unconstitutional policy. Since the Republicans are so concerned about lowered the deficit (that they created under Adolph Bush), why aren't they concerned about that? My fear is that the Republicans who control the media (Fox News, Limbaugh, Coulter) will now have a year to spread their lies and derail this effort. Congress should attach the repeal to DADT to the defense spending bill and vote for it now while the Democrats still have the majority. McCain's wife and daughter should commit him to a nursing home.
