The American
Foundation for AIDS Research's 17th National HIV/AIDS Update
Conference will be held April 10-13 in Oakland, Calif. The
conference is cosponsored by the Pacific AIDS
Education and Training Center. As many as 2,000
clinicians, public health workers, scientists, advocates,
and people living with HIV are expected to attend the
event. U.S. representative Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) will
give the event's keynote address on Sunday, April 10,
at 6 p.m. The conference's main tracks include: mental
health and addiction; prevention and harm reduction;
public policy and funding; treatment and research; and
