Mika: “Call Me Bisexual”

Grammy-nominated singer Mika finally opened up about his sexuality after years of speculation and silence.

Grammy-nominated singer Mika has finally opened up about his sexuality after years of speculation and silence, saying if people want to label him, they can call him bisexual.

"I've never ever labeled myself. But having said that, I've never limited my life. I've never limited who I sleep with. … Call me whatever you want. Call me bisexual, if you need a term for me," Mika told the Netherlands’ Gay & Night magazine.

Previously, the performer has kept mum about his sexuality.

"I never talk about anything to do with my sexuality, I don't think I need to,” said Mika in 2007 to the London Evening Standard.

Mika, whose real name is Mica Penniman, gained notoriety with his 2007 hit single “Grace Kelly” from his five-time platinum album Life in Cartoon Motion.

The change of heart comes as the singer promotes his sophomore album, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, which was released on Tuesday.

I wish the press would concentrate on what Mika says about not labelling people especially young people. I am gay & totally agree with Mika. Mika also just happens to be a good role model. The labels are harmful! Stop trying to define people by sound bites.

OUT is an AWESOME Magazine-I Love it!!! -Now for my blog feedback....I feel that everyone has a right to do as they wish (in their private lives) and that personal chemistry does not have a 'gender' label slapped on it. I personally sleep with whomever I want(regardless of gender), as long as there is a mutual attraction of some type. We have the right to make our own choices and to live our 'sex lives' in the manner that we choose. Remember, your body is ultimately 'your' property. I love you all-xoxoxo :)

The word is accept, Dan. Not except. If you're going to be self righteous, at least be smart enough to mean what you say.

Of course, the predictable cliche' gay comment saying that, "Anyone who is bisexual just hasn't fully come out yet." Seriously you all need to get over yourselves. Not everyone who is bisexual is really gay. It may be hard for you all to understand because you're all obsessed with sex. But a man can fall in love with a woman and a man. Is it too hard to understand because all you can do is look with lust? Is everything about the gay community perverted and sexually driven? Your Pride events don't make me think differently. It is no wonder gays are having a hard time being accepted. Next time why not just have a breast implant seminar at a feminist rally? You'll get just as far.
