Ricky Martin, No Shirt and a Baby

Ricky Martin knows how to get the camera's attention. Take a look at the many pictures of Ricky uploaded to his Twitter account in the past three months, always shirtless, frequently carrying one (or both) of his babies.

RICKY MARTIN LEAD XFULL (TWITTER) | ADVOCATE.COM

Since joining Twitter about three months ago, Ricky Martin has made it a routine to regularly post photos of himself hanging out with his kids – usually at the beach, almost always wearing nothing more than a swimsuit.

The oft rumored gay singer – he’s never denied it… he simply says that part of his life is not up for discussion – became a father in August, 2008 with the help of a surrogate mother.

Check out photos of Martin, who is in the studio recording his first album of new material in five years, with his twin boys, Matteo and Valentino… and another sexy pic of just Ricky thrown in for good measure.

"Surrogate mother" is the correct term. She may not be the childrens mother in terms of parenting, but she is still their biological mother.

In "No Shirt And A Baby" you explained that Ricky Martin became a parent through a "surrogate mother." As a gay parent, I find that term offensive. She is not a "mother." She provides no parenting to the children, and most likely did not provide the eggs. She is just a surrogate. I wish our own community would use the correct terms when discussing these issues, so the rest of the country will better understand the role that a surrogate plays vs. the role that a parent plays in a child's life.

I am glad 2 see most of the comments posted agree with me, that Ricky Martins private life is just that private !! why should he why should he ( or anyone else ) have to be subjected 2 losing a right that is guaranteed under the constitution and is protected by law the right 2 privacy !! I applaud him for trying 2 raise his 2 beautiful little Boys honoring them with the gift of love that every child so justly deserve . I wish Ricky as much success with his new album as he had with his last one.

And another gay teenager kills himself because being gay is so dirty and disgusting that a celebrity like Ricky Martin can't even say the words or take a picture with his full family. Shame on you, Ricky.

My partner and I have two adopted children, now ages 18 and 12. We are gay men and believe that children need love and family regardless how that is defined.

Kudos to you, bud! I'll be physically united with the new man in my life whop has also 4 grown up children. Any man can father, be a father, but it takes a special man to be a Daddy! Private intimate life is just that!: Not a public thing where anybody can come in and messes it up. Some people for pure vanity and deception enjoy messing people's lives. Once the harm is done it's difficult to put it back as it once before. Ricky is doing what comes from the heart; been a father and a daddy. There's nothing wrong with that at all, as well as many of us who do the same; taking care of children. After all, many of those children will take care of us in our aging years! Let's keep up with the good job!

I go to the same gym as he does [Equinox at Time Warner] and let me tell you that before he ever got those kids he was the first one in to the child-care center every day. I suspect he is going to be one of the great dads ever. Who cares if he is gay or not? In these times, kids need to be loved and I predict that's going to be his forte.
