Administrators at
Mormon-owned Brigham Young University have lifted a
ban on YouTube, and Advocate.com has picked out a few videos
the students might benefit from watching.
The Provo, Utah,
university, owned and run by the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, has blocked the site since its 2005
inception, according to
TheSalt Lake Tribune.
One student who
attempted to access the site Friday was finally able to search
and view everything from poignant documentaries to giggling
babies and pirated music videos.
"This is
weird," she said in the report. "I'm used to
seeing it say it's not allowed."
Another student said
that he circumvented the policy by viewing videos through
Google Video, which was not blocked.
Since
some campus dwellers are probably new to the site,
