Marcia Pissed Off Jan With Sex Joke?

Looks like sibling rivalry, even among fictitious siblings, can endure over decades.

Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia on The Brady Bunch , says she thinks costar Eve Plumb may be upset over a joke she made about them having a girl-on-girl affair years ago.

McCormick, writing for Fancast.com , said the Brady kids were to reunite on Oprah this September for the 40th anniversary of the show. All of them accepted the invitation except Plumb, a move McCormick potentially attributed to the joke.

"Eve Plumb used to be my best friend but now apparently wants to distance herself from the show and, most troubling, from me," she wrote. "I have no idea why, unless she's mad at the joke I made a few years ago that we'd had a lesbian love affair. I made the crack to be funny -- and for shock value. I'm sorry if she took offense. But hey, it was a joke."

Plumb's agent, according to Fox News, says she hasn't turned down any invitations, and that there is no feud.

Rumor has it that Ms. Plumb's affinity for her Brady Bunch legacy extends only as far as the check she receives for her appearances. Obviously Oprah didn't cough up enough cash to make it worthwhile.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. Why is it always about her and never about Jan the forgotten child. Lighten up people! This is just one small story amongst many "newsworthy" stories.

I think the coverage in the Advocate has improved in the past year. Last year, the online Advocate pages seemed like a recap of all the reality TV shows. While I may not always agree with the coverage, there are plenty of articles to read.

Advocate is a bit too heavy on entertainment v. news but it does carry more news than it used to esp with regard to SSM. It's a lot better than any media outlet aimed at gay women (with the possible exception of Rachel Maddow). Most of those are irritating, ga-ga celebrity crap. I'm glad we have Advocate, WashBlade, and 365gay to keep us informed.
