Antigay organization Focus on the Family announced it will downsize its workforce for the third time in the past year, effective September 18.

The Colorado-based group will completely shut down its advertising department's creative division by eliminating 30 positions, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. It will also hand over its "ex-gay" ministry, Love Won Out, to a similar organization in Florida. Seventy-five total jobs will be lost.

At its height, Focus on the Family employed 1,400. After two other layoffs since September 2008, the workforce is down to 860. The group is also attempting to bounce back from a $6 million funding shortfall after cutting its budget from $160 million for fiscal year 2009 to $138 million.

"These are tough economic times," Focus spokesman Gary Schneeberger said in the article. "The challenges have made us take a hard look at what we do structurally and strategically so we can accomplish our mission more efficiently."

The best news I've heard about this disgraceful organization. Look at their budget, how many people can be helped by that amount of money esp in these times. I'm sure when the people get their layoff notice, they are told "God will help you". Pathetic.

I, for one, as glad to see them slowly fade into the sunset. This organization, like so many other bigoted organizations WILL slowly die! As more and more people become aware of the TRUTH about homosexuals, they will be less and less likely to support these hate groups. We just have to keep supporting organizations that SUPPORT GLBT individuals and their right to be treated equally under this nations laws.

Well, we know they are morally and ethically bankrupt - but to be financially bankrupt would be very nice as well.
