Virulent Homophobe Behind Palin Memoir

SARAH PALIN X 390 (GETTY)

Sarah Palin's soon-to-be-released memoir was mostly written by Lynn Vincent, a woman blogger Andrew Sullivan calls a "fanatical homophobe."

In his blog on TheAtlantic.com, Sullivan pulls quotes from pieces Vincent wrote for Christian publications that declared gay people have trampled on the constitutional rights of free speech by pushing for marriage equality. Vincent also apparently believes that in years past people routinely "brushed off fleeting thoughts of homosexual behavior," but gay activists have encouraged people to follow those thoughts with "exploration and action."

The outspoken gay blogger and pundit also takes umbrage with Jonathan Burnham, who does marketing for HarperCollins, the publisher of Palin's book, expected in spring 2010. Sullivan writes, "Jonathan Burnham -- wait for it -- is an openly gay man... As gay people prepare to march for their civil rights, Burnham, one of the more powerful gay men in New York, is preparing to capitalize on their avowed enemies. It's just money, after all."

She is the product of a disturbed twisted religious fundamentalism that has found a viralent and loving home in the Republican Party. Just like parasites that see a good host. The religious fundamentalist movement in this country knows nothing of true faith. The right fundamentalist religous movement is as God describes in the Bible the arrival of the anti-Christ. They may speak in his name (the religious right), but they are not of his name. They remind me of the medieval ages where all enlightment was crushed by the organized church. And of course we know how that turned out. Any movement that dismisses pure science as fiction bares more in common with fascism than with faith. It angers me how the religious fundamentalist movement in this country has been allowed to use God in vain and prays to a "book" rather than to his Being. Hate is not what God teachs if I am correct. They need to be brought down.

She is a product of distorted religious teachings. What more can you expect from her memoir?

A Moose on Rollerskates--that's what some guy said on a news talk show a few weeks ago. Watching Sarah Palin is like watching a moose on rollerskates: it's not pretty, it's not appealing but it's absolutely RIVETING. And did you see the news announcer who had a slip of the tongue and called her book "Going Rouge?"

I think the reason anyone wants to read this book is because it's like a car wreck. You know no good will come from looking but you just can't help yourself.

Remember Anita Bryant? She ended up a fool, and headed for permanent cover. Where the hell is she? Never mind, may the witch stay covered. This one - Palin - seems to have more staying power. Get mobilized folks.
