Mary Cheney Pregnant With Second Child

Sources say that Mary Cheney, the lesbian daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney, is pregnant with her second child.

The staunch Republican and her partner, Heather Poe, expect the baby in mid to late November, according to True/Slant, which spoke with a source close to the Cheney family.

“Cheney has worked as a principal at Navigators Global, a bipartisan communications firm, but recently announced that she would be leaving the company for maternity leave and to begin a new consulting firm with her sister, Liz. Close friends were informed that she was expecting a second child about four months ago and she is now visibly showing her pregnancy, the source says,” according to True/Slant.

Cheney, 40, gave birth to her first child, Samuel David Cheney, in May 2007. She and Poe live in Virginia.

Are you kidding me, Carroll in Canada? You don't understand the negativity toward the Cheney's? What planet do you live on? You have equality, legal gay marriage, national health care for all, where you live in Canada. We have none of that in the USA, especially for gays, thanks, to the Republicans and specifically, to 8 years of Bush/Cheney. Do you recall them here campaigning on hate-filled anti-gay, anti-gay rights & marriage platforms? The Cheneys, especially Mary, had the power and opportunity to change that, but, did nothing, shame on all of them. Mary could have and should have worked to make a difference for the LGBT community. Obviously, not rocking the boat, wanting to protect her inheritance from rich Mommy & Daddy, was her priority. I hope you get lots of gay members for your Cheney/Mary Cheney fan club.

Even Republicans are lesbian (Mary Cheney) and maybe that gives her father, Dick Cheney the opportunity to be more accepting of his one daughter or else ignore both her and her and Mary Poe's first child together. Why should she be condemned for being a Republican who's lesbian and who is now pregnant with her second child? What about the Log Cabin Republicans....they're gay men!! Your politics is your choice, so too do you have the right to fall in love with another woman and...have a baby. So....I DON'T understand such angry negativity towards her as the daughter of staunch Republican Dick Cheney (wiki says his actual name is pronoounced as chee-knee) but that's neither here nor there.

Why do we still talk about this spineless, spoiled, two-faced Republican bitch and her family? Who cares!!! She, like all other so-called "gay Repubs" should hang their heads in shame and hide, considering all the damage her father and family and the Republicans have done for the Gay Rights/Marriage movement. And don't even get me started on Liz, that other obnoxious, nasty, loud-mouthed Repub. bitch sister of hers. Please, all of you Cheney's, just shout up and go away!!!

Happy for them, but like the other comments state - this is a "privileged couple" that is protected by the all mighty Cheney. Unfortunately I do not think Mary or Heather know anything about the struggle Gay Americans go through today. They live in a bubble and have yet to show concern for a community that I am not sure they know exists. Oh yeah - can't agree more, don't vacation in Florida. Lord forbid something happen to Mary, Heather would be tossed out of the state on her ass without the kids in tow!

I hope her and her partner and their kids stay away from Florida. With her staunch support of the Republicans and their "family values" platform during the last election,s her "family" might not get emergency medical help if anything happens while vacationing. Why are we as a community still talking about Mary Cheney?

It must be nice to come from a rich family with powerful political connections so that issues like not being able to legally marry (or even be domestic partners in Virginia) aren't a source of worry. Pity that less privileged couples don't enjoy such security as well.
