Brawlbany: Gay Activists vs. Sen. Díaz

Albanyx390 (Screen grab) | Advocate.com

Gay activists in Albany on Tuesday showed they were prepared to follow New York state senators, including their arch nemesis, Ruben Díaz Sr., all the way to the men’s room, if need be, to press their case for a vote on the marriage equality bill.

Frustrated and angry advocates spent the better part of their time rallying in the hallways as the Democratic leadership debated whether to vote on the marriage equality bill. Ultimately, the senate leadership pledged to hold a vote at an undetermined time this year, as Gov. David Paterson announced late in the day.

    Comment:

Diaz: "Why me?" Because you represent the subversive and bigoted semblance of a moral argument against a civil right.

Yes Franz...better we should stand around looking forlorn and hoping that these pigs feel enough sympathy to throuw us a crumb or two. I hope that a more organized and larger group will be outside the Senate Chambers for next weeks special session. Seeing this, I know that I will be there and have no problem following and harassing the likes of Reuben Diaz whereever he goes. Perhaps we need to protest at his house and the church where he is a pastor. Disrupt their lives since they seem to have no problem disrupting ours!!!

    Comment:

Following people to the restroom is tacky and invasive. Diaz is not going to vote for gay marriage, he is a waste of effort.
