Lucas: Why Can Muslims Serve, Not Gays?

MICHAEL LUCAS FAIR USE WIKIPEDIA X390 | Advocate.com

Porn star/director/producer Michael Lucas is sure to raise a lot of eyebrows with his latest commentary: On the heels of this week’s tragedy at Fort Hood, the opinionated Lucas asks why Muslims are allowed to serve in the military, while gays and lesbians are not.

Below is the beginning of the commentary, which can be found in its entirety here.

Let me preface this by saying this is not written to be politically correct. This is not written to spark controversy. This is written by the power of facts, by the force of reason and for the sake of reality. I am not a journalist; I am not a politician so I don’t have to lie. Sometime political correctness becomes a poison.

Thirteen of our country’s soldiers were killed by their "comrade." Sons, a daughter, and a mother-to-be had their lives cut short by one of their "own." Now let’s please put aside cowardly taboos and call out what has actually occurred. He is a Muslim and he did what Muslims do. Meanwhile, we are doing what we always do when they kill: finding excuses for their actions.

Whenever Muslims commit what to the normal eye looks like a massacre, our media mobilizes panels of psychiatrists, human rights organizers, professors, and officials to "explain" why what happened is not what it looks like. Why the murderers are actually the victims. But we can not let these legions of manipulators brainwash us. We can not let them confuse us. We can not let our own media and government become a mosque that takes control of our minds. Otherwise, we will not be better than Muslims because we will lose our ability to think for ourselves and stop making our own decisions. We should not let them make us feel guilty for recognizing the obvious. We should not allow them to force pity for a murderer, as the murderer did not feel any pity for his victims. We must stay to the facts; the truth and not let the media distract us and take us away from the main point.

As soon as we heard the news of the massacre and subsequently the name of the assailant, we knew it was yet another "son of Allah" killing the innocent. We didn’t need the trite excuses that he was "crazed," "lost" or "mistreated." We knew he simply carried out the order of his guide, the Koran. Muslims unleashed this war over thirty years ago against the entire civilized world when they started kidnapping people, slitting their throats, taking over planes, bombing buses, malls and entire neighborhoods.

When a country is wounded, it’s people look to their leader for strength and understanding. Our grand president Obama weakly urged, "not to jump to conclusions." Not only have you failed to act accordingly, Mr. Obama, but you have abandoned the safety of your citizens.

Thank you "Thomas" and thanks you Michael for this. It's a shame we continue to make excuses for Muslims terrorizing us. This is happening now and we need to stop it!

Ahmed: Are you typing from a cave in Afghanistan? Speaking out against Muslims is not the same as speaking out against people of color. Muslims are NOT people of color. Muslims are any people, white, black, Latino, Arabs, who are following the religion of Islam. Speaking against Islam has nothing to do with racism, either, as racism is applicable towards race, not religion. Go educate yourself before embarrassing yourself.

I can't believe people don't see how racist Lucas is. The gay community needs to be more sensitive to racism against people of color. We are sometimes such righteous victims that we forget other victims exist. When people have been killed by Christians who are against the actions of their government do we make a similar big deal? No. Also, nowhere is it stated in this article that Michael Lucas is a huge right-wing Zionist. He always glorifies Israel, and his last porn project is no exception. Also, he declared sunlight to be his enemy, that's how weird he is. Where was he when the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed by Christian soldier crusaders?

I think Lucas is right on the mark, and no Ryan he is not trying to make a point by being outrageous. He is right that apologists in the media immediately began talking about combat related stress, ignoring the fact that the killer has never BEEN in combat. How can non-muslims believe that Islam is a religion of "peace", as moderate Muslims would have us believe, when their Koran teaches them to kill Infidels and we can see that that's exactly what so many of them are trying to do?? I am not advocating persecution of Muslims, but neither do I have my head buried up to the neck in the sand. BTW, I'm not a great fan of Christianity either....Spanish Inquisition anyone? And it is a very valid point that the idiots in charge kick out patriotic gay servicemen while ignoring years of signs that the Ft Hood shooter was an Islamic with extreme views.... how idiotic is that!?

I don't think Lucas was serious when he wrote this article. I believe it was written making outrageous claims that all Muslims are killers to mirror the ridiculous claims that allowing gays to openly serve in the military would harm unit cohesiveness. By making an umbrella statement about all Muslims in the military, he has successfully stirred up the same reaction that you get when someone criticizes gays in the military.

" I wonder what Iraqi and Afghan bloggers have to say about the US as Predator drones unleash rocket attacks on civilian targets and kill thousands." Predator drones fire highly targeted missiles. Those missiles are generally armed at people who are doing "innocent" activities like setting up IED's to kill American Soldiers. These same US Soldiers have pledged to defend the constitution with their lives. The fact that Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors are willing to put their asses on the line to defend your rights, and that you use your rights to write your inaccurate, "scathing" commentary on the same military, makes me ill. If you think that thousands of innocent Muslims are being targeted by the US military, why don't you go to the middle east and get some proof? There's plenty of proof that Americans are being targeted by Muslims, check the number of US and NATO casualties.

What a piece of racist crap! Lucas has demonstrated his own deep rooted fears of the Islam religion he has no understanding or knowledge of. It appears that he equates his knowledge of those who carry out an extreme interpretation of a peaceful religion that has been unjustly put in a biased Western media podium (according to Lucas: "Muslims unleashed this war over thirty years ago against the entire civilized world when they started kidnapping people, slitting their throats, taking over planes, bombing buses, malls and entire neighborhoods"). Since when has the world been 'civilized'? Since the beginning of time till today, the world has engaged in numerous battles and wars. Additionally, what war did the Muslims start 30 years ago? Please recheck your history Mr. Lucas, I can't think of a name of that very war you indicated. Instead of writing about your prejudices & misleading correlation of gays serving in the military, it would've been tasteful to send your condolences! ASS

While it is true that there are Christians, Jews and Muslims who abhor homosexuality, its a mistake to treat them equally. Very few Christians and Jews actively campaign for a country in which homosexuals and others deemed too unrighteous are put to death. It is a fact that just recently several gay men were put to death in Iran. While there may be those of all religions who don't want homosexuals around, they are the minority. When was the last time a Christian or Jew advocated mutilating the genitals of alll females? The most liberal among us have let our irrational hatred of any opinion that may mirror the Bush admin blind us to what the "religion of peace" has in store for us if we continue to allow infiltration of our ranks. I have served in the military and witnessed firsthand security compromised in the name of political correctness. I believe it is time for the military to stop selling out the troops in the name of the politically correct AND to allow gays to serve with honor.

I read the article and was gearing up to send in my response, but Bill Seaton, kudos to you. I am a Muslim, Pakistani, I live in Kuwait and I've never been to America. I wear the hijab and the Abaya. I sympathise and condone every wound America, and other countries in the world are taking because of demented minds who are distorting a religion *based* on peace. Hell, my own country is paying for this poison. A person was discriminated against, and was going to be sent in to do the exact same thing he was ferociously trying to erase-- injustice in the middle east, as result of the ravaging wars. I am in no way defending this criminal, but you cannot deny why he did what he did. I watch videos of American troops unjustly torturing innocent muslim women and children. Ofcourse consequences will arise. I'll be blunt here: the whole Taliban situation rising from Afghanistan is America's fault in the first place. When will people realise we relate not by religion, but by humanity?

I was dumbfounded and stunned to find the editors giving credence to and highlighting the ill-informed and utterly racist drivel that spewed out of Michael Lucas in his commentary on the Ft. Hood tragedy. For Mr. Lucas to insinuate that all Muslims are cold blooded killers is tantamount to the religious right suggesting that gay marriage will lead to pedophilia and bestiality. What I found most offensive was Mr. Lucas' clear lack of understanding or knowledge of the world we live in. In describing the Ft. Hood shooter, he writes, "we knew it was yet another "son of Allah" killing the innocent." I wonder what Iraqi and Afghan bloggers have to say about the US as Predator drones unleash rocket attacks on civilian targets and kill thousands. Maybe "We heard the screams and wails and plea's to Allah for help and we knew, it was another nameless, faceless American attack." We cannot expect to be in their homeland killing tens of thousands and have no repercussions, can we???
