Lambert Simulates Oral, Kisses Keyboardist

ADAM LAMBERT AMA 2 X390 (GETTY IMAGES) | Advocate.com

In his first major awards-show performance, American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert pulled out all the stops and turned in a racy performance at the American Music Awards.

Taking a page from the Madonna performance art handbook, Lambert was barely a minute into the performance before a male dancer simulated oral sex on the singer. Later, during the performance of the song "For Your Entertainment," he made out with his male keyboard player.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE PERFORMANCE. WHAT AN AWSOME SHOW. I LOVED ALL THE GUYS AND GALS DANCING, ADAMS HOT VOICE, SEXY MOVES AND OF COURSE HIS HOT, HOT KISS. IT IS ABOUT TIME. I'M DISGUSTED OVER THE NERVE OF MEN AND WOMEN TO SIT HERE ALL THESE YEARS AND HAVE ONLY WOMEN DANCING, HANGING AROUND STRIPPING, BEING OH SO PROVACATIVE AND OH NO, WHEN A MAN PERFORMS A SEXY, HOT SHOW, OH MY, THAT JUST CAN'T HAPPEN. HYPOCRITS, HATERS. MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A TV. I'T'S OK FOR YOUR HUSBAND, SPOUSE, WHATEVER TO DROOL OVER THE CHICKS WITH NOTHING ON, BUT WOMEN CAN'T. WE'LL I'M NOT CONDITIONED FOR YOUR PLEASURE. I DESERVE SOME MYSELF. AS FOR THE CRUDE, IGNORANT, GAY BASHERS OUT THERE. GET A LIFE. DUH, YOU HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT THAT EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO LOVE, LIVE, AND BE AS THEY PLEASE!!! HYPOCRITS, HATERS, UNEDUCATED LOOSERS. UNBELIEVABLE THAT WE STILL LIVE IN THIS CENTURY WITH HOMOPHOBIC, RACIST, HYPOCRITS. TALK ABOUT DISCUSTING AND SINFUL. LOOK IN THE MIRROR. FEAR YOUR IGNORANT SELF.

Frankly I was disappointed in Adam for not coming out publicly when he made it into the top 10 finalists on Idol. This would have been the perfect moment to rock the homophobic world of Cowell and closet-case Seacrest. Gays would have had a hero to root for. Fan-girls and their obese mothers would have weeped. America would have had its tolerance challenged. And I actually think he would have won instead of (yawn)Kris because Adam's true fanbase would have been energized. But alas, he chickened out for fear of offending females - so he deserved to lose. I pretty much washed my hands of him after that ... Until I saw who has been attacking his AMA performance - Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Kathie Lee Gifford, Sherri Shepherd, Brooke Anderson, Mike Galanos, Lara Spencer, Samantha Harris...what a crowd of 'phobic mediocre right-wing hacks! Now all I can say is RIGHT ON, ADAM! He must be doing something right if he's pissing off all the right people.

Remember where all those before Lambert were in their career when they did the things they did. Lambert has just gotten into the business. These are his first big breaks. Out of the gate? I'm not shocked or offended ... from a business point of view I think it was a poor choice. Besides he didn't need the additional press. He was already on a roll. Glam-blam-thank-you-ma'am. He should have a sit down with Bowie. Take some tips from a pioneer of the genre.

Why are people looking down on him for it. He has the right, its his performance. Madonna and Christina have done some pretty racy things themselves so he is entitled to it. I thought the performance was great.

Yup Im kind of saddened that Adam allowed himself to be nothing more than a cheap showman. It was his make it or break it night and as far as im concerned he broke it! Here I gave the guy credit for being quiet about his sexual preferences during Idol. Honestly its no ones business but here he ran the gammet on the awards and showed everyone a performance that was humiliating for both him and for the viewers. His behaviour for a debutant performer was uncalled for. I dont understand why he didnt just show off his musical talents and let us judge him on that. I say his big break night was a bust for me but hey ..now I save by not having to buy his new CD!

If a gay guy like myself who supports any gay and I had trouble swallowing that mess, he failed, failed, failed. Pathetic.

I defend Adam's right as an artist to work his art. I think that if Madonna or Gaga had done the same things no one would be up in arms about it. I mean really. I think there is a huge double standard going on. That said... I thought the performance was not good. I think his ear monitor wasn't adjusted well because he was pitchy/off key a lot. Besides that there was just too much going the hell on. Less movement, better monitor ear piece, better singing. In my mind i was comparing him to Kelly Clarkson earlier in the broadcast who stood still and knocked it out of the park. I feel bad for Adam.

What was he thinking...what an immature act to display on prime time TV. To bad his thought process isn't as "promising" as his career.

Well I thought the performance was great and besides if people would search some of the past Madonna performances they would see that she did the same things. Think it is sad that because he is gay some people think we should be ashamed or that he has influenced younger audiences. So funny when a straight person does anything like this on stage it is no big deal, but not if a gay performer does. Honestly he should have won America Idol, he clearly has the better talent out of the two.
