Producers for Good Morning America have canceled Adam Lambert's scheduled appearance on its weekly concert series.

ABC News axed the concert after his racy performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday. Lambert kissed his keyboardist and simulated oral sex with a dancer during the performance, prompting outrage from several media outlets.

According to TV Newser, ABC put the brakes on his appearance because "given his controversial live performance on AMAs," producers "were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning."

While the awards show garnered its highest ratings its had since 2002, ABC has reportedly received more than 1,500 complaints in response to the performance.

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly reports that Lambert will shift his performance over to The Early Show on CBS.

I just wish he would show off his voice instead of shrieking and simulating sex. He does have lots of talent and a good voice, but I wish he would remember that he has not had a hit record yet, and a more widely appealing performance of a less "in your face" song might have won him more fans, AND more record sales. Adam, you are not a star YET.

Sometimes negative publicity is good. I just heard a little about it and was determined to see what all the contriversy was about. My Grandmother used to say, "If you haven't seen this before, you don't know what it is. If you have seen this before, it doesn't make any difference." Also lets keep religion in our churches, our politics to ourselves, and if you see something you do not like, change to a different channel.

LAMBERT is a freak. He's giving the bigots yet another excuse to hate us. Elvis live on 50s TV is a church picnic compared to this oversexed slut. And,like Elvis, will burn himself out in no time. You don't start off on the road to stardom by Facefucking America. Leave the "Facefuck America" to the Republicans!

I wouldnt say that CBS was fine with it... http://bit.ly/827BKl MYFOXNY.COM - CBS's Early Show, didn’t skip a beat when they swooped down to grab the Adam Lambert concert and interview after he was ditched by ABC’s Good Morning America, but during the network morning news show CBS treated video showing a lesbian tongue kissing differently than it did Lambert kissing his male keyboardist.

I want to know why everyone is picking on Adam? I was more upset with the female performers wearing little clothing and acting like sex toys for the male population and co-performers on stage. as far as people simulating sexual acts on stage PLEASE. Madonna "masterbated" on TV in the 80's, men have been objecifying women on stage for years, decades, and now one man who happens to be gay is getting "complaints" for doing the same thing that has been going on on stage for years. Sounds like double standard to me. I find it hard to comprehend that through out the show acts had been doing suggestive content. Then the last act gets ripped appart for following suite. It is a shame. People should be free to be themselves, shouldn't they?

No Cid you're not alone. I was bored all this stupid yells like "Lambert is a shame of the gay community!" If you don't remember, when Timberlake-Jackson incident happened they recieved much much more complaints. Lambert is good and gifted guy and he didn't promise to be a gay-leader or gay-symbol. He came out for himself, not for everybody. So stop beating him for one thing you didn't like in his actions. It's idiocy. He shouldn't pay you for his success because he got it only thanks to his talent, not gay nor straight community.

I, for one, thought Adam's performance was horrible. His song sucked. His dancing sucked. He actually fell and played it off like he was rolling around. He knows his number is up and is trying to cash in as much time he can so he can extend his 15 minutes of fame. Will we be talking about him in 10 years? DOUBTFUL. I am ashamed as a gay man to be grouped in the same demographic as him. To the people complaining about a double standard, no one would be canceling his performance were it not for him simulating oral sex. Guys have kissed on stage for years. Guys kiss on tv all the time. Guys do not force a dancer's face in their crotch routinely and that's where all the outrage is coming from. Adam sucks and is doing it for publicity and stop buying into the victim mentality. This is not an issue of double standards.

Ok so let me get this right.........there were 1,500, thats one thousand five hundred, complaints regarding a performance on tv in a country where the population is well over 300,000,000, thats three hundred million. if my math is correct thats less than .001% of our total population. Humm, didnt I read that the ratings for that particular show was the highest they have had in ALONG time? Not saying that is due to Mr. Lambert, but please, really people.........REALLY? Our country has more serious problems to worry about that who is kissing who on a TV show?

Keep going Adam!! Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvn_Ied9t4M [quoted from Apple]

Am I the only one who thinks this was GREAT and that it will probably take his career to a plateau never seen before? Get over it people...a lot worse has been done in the past. Welcome to a new era...PROPS LAMBERT!!! Didn't vote for you on American Idol because that season it came down to who I found cuter as opposed to talent, but I now have mad respect for you.
