Karen Walker Hawks Butter Substitute

MEGAN MULLALLY I CANT BELIEVE... SCREENGRAB | Advocate.com

Cher hawked Equal. Brooke Shields shows women how to restore eyelash length thanks to Latisse. And now Megan Mullally is the latest gay icon to sign up as a spokesperson, singing and dancing her way through an I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter ad.

The actress, who won an Emmy as Karen Walker on Will & Grace, sings of hydrogenated oil and is wheeled around a supermarket on a jumbo tub of butter substitute.

Yes, Nathan, 'hawk' is definitely the word they wanted. 'Hock' can also mean 'to hamstring' so maybe they really meant that these actors are hindering sales of the products. ;) Gotta love the editing around here.

I recently decided to try I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, so I bought a tub of it without knowing Megan Mullally has a commercial for it. And that's too bad, because the stuff is absolutely awful. No matter how much I love Megan, and I do, nothing she could ever do or say could convince me to buy it again.

I believe the word for advertising or selling a product is "hawking", as in the bird. "Hocking" as you spelled it is slang for pawning something.Editor's Note: Thanks! We've made the change.
