Tomato Thrown at Sarah Palin

SARAH PALIN ALT 01 X390 (GETTY) | ADVOCATE.COM

Police in Bloomington, Minn., arrested a man Monday for throwing a tomato at Sarah Palin during her book tour appearance at the Mall of America. The former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate was not hit, but tomato fragments struck two police officers.

The tomato flung from the second-level balcony hit the stage and missed Palin by 10 feet, according to WCCO-TV.  People on the balcony helped the police apprehend the suspect.

”Police identified him as 33-year-old Jeremy Paul Olson from St. Paul, but they think he also goes by the name Jeremiah Wobbe,” reported WCCO-TV. “Police said he was arrested and booked on assault and disorderly conduct charges. Officers added that when they arrested him, they found two more tomatoes he'd been carrying.”

Thad, Carol and Nathan, please I already heard this mambo-jambo, All of you drones speak the same language, lacking evidence, no substance, vile attacks on people, Just an ensemble of childish liberal cliches. Stop speaking out of your asses. If you actually read my comments I said I'm okay with her, I still have some issues with her, and no its not the gay thing (her lack of foreign policy curiosity, and her husband's involvement in the Alaskan separatist party) I have the things that I can challenge her with, and you childish drones have nothing. Just bable. Besides that, I'm okay with her as a leading conservative woman, and I support Ron Paul and Cheney (domestic and foreign policy gurus, respectively)as leading conservative voices.

Sarah Palin is a populist who seems to have a natural ability to harness sensationalism. This is not somthing lacking in Presidents over the years, especially Obama who is one of the finest orators of our generation. At the end of the day though, the president needs to be an individual of great intellectual capacity and fortitude to truely withstand the rigors of the presidency. Palin is utterly lacking in these qualities, and if elected she would be nothing more than a puppet like Regan. Love him or hate him, you can't argue that President Obama is not an intelligent man.

I wonder if he could have hit his target with a shoe! If people are going to throw things at people why don't they practise first?

I'd rather have a tomato thrown at me than have marriage defined as a union between a man and a woman in the US constitution, which Sarah Palin supports. Gay Elephant seems to think that moving to the center right, which for him includes supporting Sarah Palin, will help the gay marriage fight. Maybe if he would quit fixating on the particular facts that will help his political aspirations, he would see that supporting Palin might not be the best idea. I also want to add that people who are against gay marriage are NOT your friends; they're called fake friends and you don't need them. Though Palin and her lesbian "friend" may have once shared a true friendship, Palin is clearly just using her to show what a tolerant person she is.

In what ways has she been a hypocrite? Please don't come out here and start mouthing off like some big shot. Have something to back it up first. And before you answer please look up hypocrisy in the dictionary and you will find that it mostly applies to your precious liberals who took your donations and vowed for "equality" then to vote against same sex marriage in NY.

What a waste of a perfectly good tomato. Perhaps if they threw a Bible at her it might make a bigger statement (i.e., hypocrite).

Jory, I agree. But America is center-right despite what these drones do to her. I say there is no harm moving with the rest of the nation where we will have more leverage in convincing the public on same-sex marriage. Don't bother with these drones, they are a lost cause ... there is no hope for these liberals.

bob, no Anita Bryant was on a crusade against gay people. Palin is on no such Crusade. Anyway bought her book yesterday and read half of it last night. Really cool book on how the McCain campaign really derailed their own camp. And still can't find any negative things on gay people gosh darn-it! But I did get to read the part of her lesbian friend, really nice I have to say. I think Palin is the front runner to be the next President and I wouldn't mind that. But I think Ron Paul would also be my choice if he decides to run again, thought I prefer Paul who has more experience in dealing with the economic issues.
