Report False: Griffin Not Banned from CNN?

KATHY GRIFFIN X390 (GRIFFIN) | ADVOCATE.COM

CNN is denying rumors that the network has banned comedian Kathy Griffin from future New Year's Eve broadcasts.

An early report from Popeater.com said the Emmy winner had been banned after she dropped an f bomb on the air during CNN's New Year's Eve program, which she cohosted again with anchor Anderson Cooper. She also raised eyebrows when she lashed back at a heckler during the 2009 New Year's Eve event.

However, CNN publicist Shimrit Sheetrit said released the following statement: "Stories about Kathy Griffin being banned from CNN are incorrect; no decisions have been made regarding next year's show."

Kathy Griffin is comedy gold - CNN are incredibly lucky to get her to work with them so often. It's a shame no TV network is brave enough to give her her own show. So what if she said the F-word - it was midnight - kids should have been in bed !!! I am an adult and I will be the one who decides what needs to be censored for myself. She did nothing wrong. She is an entertainer and she delivered 110% once again ! It's time America grew up - there is FAR FAR FAR too much censorship in the USA - we are letting the conservatives edit all our shows and treat us like children. Enough !

Fox news is what everyone is watching to stay informed? Wow. If that is the case then I will remain blissfully ignorant and will be a better person for it. Yes kathy Griffin goes over the top, but let's be real. CNN's producers are not morons. They know exactly what they are doing my juxtaposing Anderson Cooper with Kathy Griffin.

My jaw dropped open when I read Teddy C's comment that no one watches CNN anymore, most sane and informed people watch FOX." Informed? From Fox News? Not from that unfair and imbalanced network! Check out this list of the ten most egregious distortions of news stories on Fox (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/20/the-ten-most-egregious-fo_n_327140.html). It is hard to be "informed" when what you are being spoon fed is already spun far to the right with made up facts when the real ones don't suit the agenda. While I enjoy Ms. Griffin, I think CNN would be well within their rights to choose another host that can monitor his or her vocabulary a bit better for a live broadcast.

Im starting to loose interest in Kathy Griffin. She's still funny at times but she's really starting to go over the line. I wouldnt blame CNN at all for banning her if she cant control her mouth. Of course, no one watches CNN anymore, most sane and informed people watch FOX and they would never have Kathy on their network. Come on Kathy, tone it down a bit.

Another gay here who doesn't like Kathy Griffin. I used to like her, and watched "The D-List" the first few seasons, but now KG seems to be crossing every limit just to get attention. I quit watching her show midway through last season. She stopped being funny and just wants to shock and offend everyone in order to create controversy and bring attention to herself.

Seriously? Guys on here are saying she should be banned because you don't like her? Banned? When did gay people start acting like Christian groups? Kathy's great and CNN should be grateful they're getting some buzz (and that she didn't out her closet-case co-host)! Next year they can have Wolf Blitzer and Campbell Brown ring in a festive rockin' New Year's Eve. Kathy makes CNN fun.

She needs to be banned! I feel like I'm the only gay man that CAN'T STAND HER and think "D-list" is even overstated. Perhaps the rest of you need to get behind a real comedian and not this immature, obnoxious flake that can't finish a story without going off into a dozen detours, let alone the words "so!.. anyway!..." Ugh. I miss George Carlin, a real comedian who didn't bullshit anyone or annoy you to death like this twat. He told it like it is. Just because I don't believe in Jesus doesn't mean I'd love to see him come back just to tell HER to go suck it.
