Jerry Brown Announces Calif. Gubernatorial Bid

As widely expected, California attorney general Jerry Brown Tuesday announced his bid for governor — a position he held in the nation's most populous state from 1975 to 1983.

Brown, the likely Democratic nominee who declined to defend the constitutionality of Proposition 8 in federal court and urged the state supreme court to strike down the ballot measure after voters approved it in 2008, will likely face either Steve Poizner or Meg Whitman in the November general election.

Whitman, the ex-eBay CEO billionaire who opposes gay marriage and supported Prop. 8, has prepared for Brown's candidacy with an exhaustive oppositional research campaign: Politico reports that Whitman will attempt to portray Brown "as a wasteful spender and tax-raiser with a poor record of creating jobs."

Below, Brown's official announcement via YouTube.

I hope none of you really thinks Jerry Brown is a true supporter of gay issues or people. He only uses people/slogans to make himself appeal to the electorate. Not unique for a politician, I know. However, as Attorney General he allows a gay employee to be dismissed for a misdemeanor citation while straight employees with their own infractions are not harshly disciplined and certainly not fired. He's much more concerned with the image of the California Dept of Justice due to his run for office than he is about treating workers fairly or considering the anti-discrimination laws we have in this state. So much for fighting for what is right.

Meg wants to create jobs, uh, by firing 50,000 state workers. I believe I've read that ebay was laying people off, but I might be wrong. And her "secret plan" to help California recover is probably to have a big ass yard sale! LOL Let's sell off the bridges & highways for some quick cash. You don't mind paying an $8 toll to cross a bridge do you? It's already happened in Florida.

Jerry Brown 2010! He’s our man. I liked what he had to say. And so he’s off. There goes another $40 million from Meg. How broke do you think we can make her? Did you see her claw in the photo? If Brown continues to moves forward as a centrist he’d be wise. How much does a spray-on tanning session cost? Jerry could use one. Meg too, but who care. He’s around 70 isn’t he? So, he looks pretty good. Meg is the perfect Queen of Hearts. As Governor, if she can’t buy you, intimidate you or tear you down, then it’s off with your head. Can't you see her threatening you? Before becoming governor, she might want to vote once, one time, just once, and maybe know something about government and policy before she wants the top job. Can she not get a job as a CEO? Job performance not holding up?

God! Is it me, or do they both look like death? So it's come to this....you have a choice between the old white guy that looks like death or the old white woman who looks like death. Gotta love California's diversity.
