DNC Raises $13 Million in March

BARACK OBAMA DNC DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE X390 (GETTY) | ADVOCATE.COM

Despite a boycott by many LGBT donors, the Democratic National Committee was able to raise $13 million in March, nearly $2 million more than the Republican National Committee, according to The Huffington Post.

A Democratic official said that it seems many on the left have been motivated by the party's ability to pass the massive health care reform bill in March.

The RNC announced on Wednesday that it had raised $11.4 million in March.

A group of several LGBT activists and bloggers launched a pledge for gay rights supporters to not donate money to the DNC until action is taken on some of the major gay-related issues, like ending "don't ask, don't tell" and enacting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

We have no choice. If the Repubs win big, esp in the senate you can kiss the supreme court goodbye for decades Until the rest of the world wakes up and boycotts America. We have to support the Dems. They and we are the victims of the ugliest thing I've ever seen in American Politics - the repub party - our own taliban, allied with the total greed - steal all you can" mentality of the tea partiers. Either that or just move to canada. I'm not willing to give up on the USA. We've just got to keep the blogs going on the endless abuse of kids by the catholic church of hatred, with its smoke screen of "life" while it drives thousands of gay kids every year to suicide. And the right wing christian haters of gays Who need to be declared what they are - mentally ill with a disease called homophobia.

No matter how much money they raise the Republicans/Tea Party will sweep Congress in November and any hope of us ever getting ENDA, and DOMA and DADT repealed will be gone.

fine, if they are on our side- I'll gladly vote for them and contribute money...after they keep their promises. Of course, they don't have a prayer of keeping the district I live in- the idiot first term democrat congressman- Glen Nye, has voted against democrat sponsored bills too often- healthcare,etc...area Democrats are calling him a shamocrat/republican- neither side will vote for him.

The boycotts were silly to begin with. I'm glad they are getting their money. Believe it or not, they are on our side.

Come on Tim, do you really think it is fair to compare what is asked of the Republicans by right-wingers with what is asked of the Democrats by us?

The anti comments below remind me of when the religious right gets mad at the Republicans for only giving lip service and bluster and not much more to their issues.

I'm with you Mark M, I am sick of being promised action only to end up policies like DADT.
