Editorial Calls LGBT Workers "Weirdos"

THE WASHINGTON TIMES THUMBS DOWN X390 (PHOTOS.COM) | ADVOCATE.COM

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation is issuing a call to action against The Washington Times for a Sunday editorial titled "Discrimination Is Necessary" with the subhead "Subjecting kids to weirdos undermines standards of decency."

The editorial starts with, "First-graders should not be forced into the classrooms of teachers undergoing sex changes. Religious broadcasters and faith-based summer camps should not be forced to hire cross-dressers. Women should not be forced to share bathrooms with people with male body parts who say they want to be females."

The editors warn that these situations could all happen because of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which the House Education and Labor Committee is expected to vote on this week.

GLAAD saysTimes staffers are resorting to such statements because they've "lost the argument, and they know the facts are not on their side." GLAAD also cites a Gallup poll, showing that public support for nondiscrimination laws is up to 90% among Americans.

The organization is calling on people to sign a petition for a vote on an inclusive ENDA and learn more about the proposed legislation.

The lack of knowledge of the Washington Times staffers is appalling. I never heard of a transsexual teacher transitioning during the school year.

And, just by the way oh so "non-generic" bs journalists, there are thousands upon thousands of Christian LGBT people. So don't make excuses for fanatical endoctrination- excuse me "faith based camps"

Yes, yes, Mr. Washington Times Christian Socialist- oh excuse me, "free-loving" "conservative". And trans-children shoudn't have false prophesying wingnuts tell them their healthy identity is "an abomination". And transwomen, who have cross-dressed as males their whole lives, should not have to explain to irresponsible, un-researched journalists the difference between, say it with me, t-r-a-n-s-s-e-x-u-a-l, t-r-a-n-s-g-e-n-d-e-r, and t-r-a-n-s-v-e-s-t-i-t-e. There are these great little things called dictionaries in the free world you know, and I know them to be quite cheap and numerous for the taking and the reading. As for using the bathroom, most transpeople who use the bathroom have the associated "parts" that you have vulgarly reduced this conversation to- thats, shh, don't tell anyone, kind of why...they use that bathroom. oh my...what indecency.

Jonathan Using that logic, since 2/3 of the molested children are girls then male heterosexuals should not be allowed around girls. Hey, d, you are right my almost 1100 on the SAT would have been higher except for my low score on the English. It has always been my worst subject, but a therapist, I haven't needed a therapist since my divorce and then coming out.

The suicides that you speak of are teens who were molested by their homosexual teachers. You have decided that they were gay to allieve your consciences.
