Does the sight of cleavage trigger earthquakes? The world will learn the answer Monday as thousands of women participate in Boobquake Day, a young American woman’s response to an Iranian cleric’s claim that immodest dress causes the earth to shake.

According to ABC News, “It all started a week ago, when Purdue University senior Jennifer McCreight, 22, wrote a blog post about some ‘supernatural thinking’ put forward by Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi, an Iranian prayer leader.

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which [consequently] increases earthquakes," he was quoted as saying during Friday prayers in Tehran.

“Put off by the cleric's comment, the genetics major turned to her blog and declared that it was ‘Time for a Boobquake.’

“‘On Monday, April 26th, I will wear my most cleavage-showing shirt,’ she wrote. ‘I encourage other female skeptics to join me and embrace the supposed supernatural power of their breasts. ... With the power of our scandalous bodies combined, we should surely produce an earthquake.’”

Nearly 200,000 women have pledged their support for the Boobquake on the global event’s Facebook page, and the hashtag #boobquake has been trending strongly on Twitter.

no leena you are mistaken. it is obvious you were not at the prayer service. we have god's will and your evil 'free' will. Nothing free is good, remember that. All things that are free, or feel good, or don't involve stoning your sister to death for talking to freely with your neighbor are bad. This imam says all kinds of crazy things in his prayer services.

I want to congratulate the out of the box (blouse) thinking of this student! My friends and I were discussing the world-wide appeal of such a display - and wonder if there might be a counter-vailing Male version?
