Former Real World Star Runs for Congress

Sean Duffy, a star of MTV’s The Real World: Boston who later appeared in a gay-produced mockumentary about same-sex marriage, appears on track to win the GOP nomination for the seventh congressional district seat in Wisconsin.

According to The Huffington Post, Duffy has received support for his bid from GOP luminaries including Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty and former Alaska governor and vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

“At 38, Duffy has been named one of the genuinely young members of the RNC's not-so ‘Young Guns,’” reports HuffPo. “With establishment help, including endorsements from Tim Pawlenty's Freedom First PAC and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Duffy has raised more than $600,000 and is expected to to beat his opponent, tea-party backed Dan Mielke (author of perhaps the most monotonous, sleep-inducing, uninspired attack video ever created), in September's Republican primary.”

If Duffy wins, he would likely face Wisconsin state senator Julie Lassa, the expected Democratic nominee for the seat to be vacated by Rep. David Obey, a Democrat who announced his retirement in May.

Duffy, a prosecutor and lumberjack athlete who appeared in the sixth season of The Real World in 1997, later starred in The Wedding Video, a mockumentary about same-sex marriage by gay producer Norm Korpi, a star of the first season of The Real World in New York City.

What on earth is a lumberjack athlete? And how does that qualify one to run for office? And when will post-er Ray be allowed into elementary school?

Didn't he marry an Asian chick that looks like she has Downs Syndrome who also was on a season of The Real World? Another self loathing bisexual closet case no doubt.

perhaps he should try living in the real world, clearly tying your horse to Palin's wagon gives you very little credibility.

OF COURSE he's a bigot!! Look at who's supporting him... Palin and Pawlenty!! His ad started off by identifying him as the father of SIX!! AND... He's a REPUBLICAN!!! DEFINITELY NOT someone that LGBT people in Wisconsin would want to vote for.

I got this from his website: Pro-Traditional Marriage: I believe in the definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman. I voted for the 2006 Wisconsin amendment defining marriage between a man and woman and I do not favor any government-sanctioned union/arrangement that looks like traditional marriage. So..gay folks in Wisconsin..you gonna vote for this guy???

Is he a bigot? Must be if Pawlenty and Palin are backing him.
