How gay are we with the Diva chat?? I guess I always considered Judy Garland and Julie Andrews to be actresses, but I see how they're diva's. I liked the film Faithful that had Cher in it, but it did bomb when it was released. At least this film can't possible be as awful as Glitter or that Britney Spears movie. I can't help but wonder how many drag queen fights began with "My diva can beat up your diva!"...

And Liam, how could you forget other iconic divas like Judy Garland, and Julie Andrews? ;)

Liam, don't sell Cher short. She has given critically acclaimed performances in almost every movie she's acted in, starting with Silkwood. And don't forget Mask, Mermaids, Tea With Mussolini, and even the somewhat pedestrian Faithful in 1996.

Geeze is Stanley Tucci playing gay again? This is the third time, twice recently with Meryl Streep now with Cher, I guess next time he will have to be play gay with Kurt Russell to make the Silkwood Trine complete. This looks like a vanity project entirely. A rundown “Burlesque Lounge” with a heart-o-gold owner that doesn’t exploit her workers, she just want to help them break into big time show biz for the love of art. This is more fable than anything, a Burlesque Lounge with out lap dances and some skirting the liquor/prostitution laws isn’t going to be in business after a week. Bada Bing!

Sorry for the typos, I only thought of one Diva at first and then realized there were a few that had been successful and changed my posting and didn't notice the errors until it was too late.

Cher has actually made a few flops since winning an Academy Award for Best Actress (In Moonstruck), other than The Witches of Eastwick she hasn't had much success in movies. Of all the "Divas" the only one who has had success in music and film are Whitney Houston (3 films all hits), Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, and Janet Jackson (who should be thanking Tyler Perry at this point for keeping her relevant). At least Cher isn't Madonna. Maybe her new film will actually prove to be both a hit and a decent film.
