Etheridge: No Money for Tammy Lynn

Melissa Etheridge filed paperwork Friday to officially dissolve her domestic partnership with Tammy Lynn Michaels. Now court documents reveal Etheridge is seeking joint custody of their children and asked the court not to award financial support to Michaels.

“i gave up my managers, agents, contacts, all that good stuff, because i stepped directly into potty training a small boy, and carrying around a small girl on my hip,” Michaels wrote on her blog Saturday after posting a poem in which she says she was blindsided by finding the paperwork had been filed.

“i was always the house wife after that,” she continues. “the only thing i hated about it was not bringing in money- i have made my own money since i started babysitting at 10, and having a newspaper route at 11. having no steady paycheck killed me for those years with her. and now it's really killing me. the other week i had to borrow money from a friend. two weeks ago i had to scrape together $1.25 to pay for gas. i know she doesn't want to give me money. trust. i'm borrowing cash left and right from people to get through this summer, and feed my kids, with a stomach full of ulcers, thank you.”

Hey to all the men and women who say about Tammy who Melissa dumped why doesn't she go out and get a job. How ignorant. It's not about how wealthy Melissa Etheridge is ;but it's about a lesbian couple and if you read the interviews and go to even YOU Tube then you will see for yourself how Tammy offered to take time off to watch the kids and create a home for the first set of kids Melissa has while they were dating and Melissa was ecstatic because that would give her the freedom to tour. Fast forward to 2003 the beautiful wedding and the gushing of Melissa "I wish the whole world could have this" meaning "LOVE" I say it is not about a friggen job for Tammy but it is about the fact they signed up at the court house as DOMESTIC PARTNERS, do you GET IT? Tammy Lynn should and will get a settlement because that is the right thing for the courts to do and she probably will go back to acting as she is talented and beautiful and young. Melissa is an older has been rocking hag. Grow up Melis

Megan, it's damn woman like you that make me sick and your thoughts are backwards and here is why. Tammy Lynn should get something because this is the woman Melissa loved and this is the woman that bore the children that Melissa loves and this is the woman that nursed a CANCER stricken Melissa back to health and made a home for Melissa. If Marriage is what the community wants and is fighting to make it legal then be prepared for divorce and all that goes with it. If it were a heterosexual man and woman divorcing the woman would get a settlement. Who are you to conclude that Tammy is a whiner because she blogs but it's OK for Melissa to go on the Opray show and lie and say the split was mutual for her image when it obviously was not. You forget one very important dynamic and that is love and where is it when the bitch files for divorce over a holiday weekend and asks for joint custody and the ex gets nothing and she has the audacity to ask for joint custody of the kids Tammy birthed.

California is a No Fault Divorce as well as community property state and therefore spouses are entitled to half of the couple's aquired property during the time of the marriage. Melissa is taking advantage of not having been " legally married" because the sole factor of being gay. It's Shameful. Truly, shameful. It makes me not want to supoort her or her music.
