W Scottsdale Says No to H8

Cindy McCain x390 (Fair Use) I Advocate.com

The W hotel in Scottsdale will host Arizona’s first photo shoot for No H8, the gay rights campaign that was born out of the passage of Proposition 8 in California.

No H8 photographer and cofounder Adam Bouska and cofounder Jeff Parshley will run a shoot from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, with a cocktail reception to follow.

The W chain has long supported a number of gay rights causes throughout the country. In 2008, Arizona voters approved a state constitutional amendment defining marriage as “only a union of one man and one woman.”

Jimi, AZ is not playing host. A hotel in AZ is. The state of Arizona is providing nothing but a counterpoint.

Why is Cindy McCain featured in the photo? I don't believe for one minute that she actually gives a damn about LGBT equality. It was a publicity stunt and her scumbag husband has already said that he would not allow repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, and that he supports DOMA. If she cares so damn much about us why isn't she urging her husband to stop acting like an asshole.

I believe that you all have gotten just a bit off topic. The point of the article is that Arizona is playing host to an event supporting a beautiful cause. The fact that the group chose to hold the event there really does not reflect the views of Arizona itself. Nor does any of your ranting about race or Arizona politics have anything at all to do with No H8. Is it so hard to simply relish the fact that there are events like this taking place?

I have nothing against the 'brown' people having lived in Mexico for 9 years. Most are wonderful folks living in a country with high corruption and very low wages. What I am against is the lack of the feds in enforcing our own laws. The AZ law may not be the best, but what in the hell are we to do to get the feds off their collective asses and fix this immigration issue? A poke in the eye! In their collective asses I say. McCain and Kyle are not better in that they didn't do anything either until the state took action. I don't blame AZ. I blame our congress and lack of leadership from the president. It is a political chess game.

50 - 60 years ago there was only people with brown skin in AZ. Then, white people found out they could golf, swim, play tennis, etc. 365 days a year. So like always white people want the good stuff and they will take it away from anybody in order to get their way. Moral of the story to anyone who has a good thing going. KEEP YOUR F'ing MOUTH SHUT, because when we find out we'll take it from you.

Most voters of AZ support this bill. And, let's be honest, the only reason Gov. Brewer signed it was because many conservatives have been wishy washy about her leadership after Gov. Nopalitano (sp?) resigned. (Keep in mind AZ doesn't have a Lt. Gov.--Brewer has never been elected to her position). This law elevated her support. I live in Phoenix, so I am witnessing all kinds of things about the immigration law. I have a very hard time seeing it for anything else than what it is: good, old-fashioned racism. I can't tell you how many times I have heard someone belitting any legal resident because they have an accent or have brown skin. I strongly beleive that supporters of this law think it's going to get rid of all the brown people, despite thier being a considerable amount of legal immigrants here.

John is a retard. If the Arizona people aren't bigots they should try to do something about that governor they have or maybe they agree with her?
