Gay Mormons Slam LDS Action in Argentina

Members of a support group for gay and lesbian Mormons are criticizing the involvement of the LDS Church in trying to prevent marriage equality from passing in Argentina.

Church members have denied playing an official role in opposing the law before it passed last week, but Carlos Aguero, the church's public affairs director for Argentina, attended a meeting earlier this month with other conservative church leaders in an effort to plan protests.

"This is another appalling example of the LDS trying to dominate government decisions being made by democratically elected officials," David Melson, executive director of the support group Affirmation, said in a statement.

In Argentina, been a homosexual or a lesbian is not something you are going to write home about... We try not to prostitute the laws with the same sex marriages as in the US. If you are a homosexual or a lesbian, CONGRATULATIONS! it is a PRIVATE matter! so keep it private. If I like to use the vacuum for pleasure... I am glad you are having fun, HOWEVER, you can't marry the Hoover and if your girlfriend loves her German Shepherd more than you... She can't marry the pooch! Please keep your private life private. You do not need a parade to show to the world your depravations. I believe we ALL are brothers and sisters... I don't hate you and I speak the truth. Focus on the positive, life is a lot better this way. Take care, Klaus.

I had a four way sexual encounter with my friend and two Mormon boys who came to the door, I will never forget it. My friend and I were drinking beer and we saw them coming down the street and he bet me he could get them to take their clothes off. Well they did and then in no time they were doing just what they were told! One put his clothes back on after a short while but the other one enjoyed it! The shy one started to get angry with his friend. It was great!!

What do you expect, their stinking Mormons, that walk around in starched white shirts, ties, and black dress pants trying to show the world how squeaky clean they are.

Trying to influence the outcome of a political election seems pretty clearly contrary to the IRS regulations that establish tax-exampt status for a church. Why isn't there an organization that's willing to sue the US government on behalf of taxpayers to revoke their tax-exampt status, and that of the Catholic Church as well? I tried to organize a protest of the building of a new Roman Catholic church in Plumsteadville, PA, just to inform potential parishioners of the harm the Catholic Church does and where their money goes (to Prop. 8 to deny citizens civil rights, for instance), but no one responded to my Facebook page. I'm willing to support and contribute toward the development of a direct action campaign, but know of none. There are a lot of other disallusioned lgbts and allies. That anger could be harnessed for change with some leadership, but I see none.

I do not applaud those who stay, they are helping to fund this hate church as every Mormon must donate 10% of their monthly earnings. They will never change the Mormon belief system because it is based on a pyramid scheme. So basically they are buying their way to god hood, which is impossible because it does not exist. They must have a group to condem otherwise how would they convince their followers they are special? It's not culture, it's greed, poorly discuised as a church. It is in no way comparable to stonewall, that is offensive.

It is my personal position that if a person is a gay believing Mormon or any other denomination, they ought remain to stand and resist. No one has a right to dis-enfranchise anyone else from their heritage. If every one ran away or abandoned entities that discriminated, we all should have left this country after Stonewall. But we didn't, we resisted and we are slowly prevailing. I am not a Mormon but I applaud and support those who are gay Mormons, and who remain to stand up and resist bigotry and force those institutions the continual discomfort of having to reckon with reality.

If you are gay and Mormon then you are part of the problem, why help finance an organization that wants you to be treated like a second rate human?

Sorry but all religions are cults. Any organized belief can be called a cult - plain and simple. And the Mormons were the ones to make sure that gay marriage did not become legal in CA. SO of course they were involved in Argentina.

The Mormon cult and Catholic Pedophile Organization persecute us because we are the only minority group who let them. We must move from defensive mode to offensive mode and sue them to remove their tax exempt status since they are obviously political organizations. Next we should be at every one of their church services picketing and chanting that we want our equal civil constitutional rights. Finally we should investigate their leaders and hold press conferences about their illegal activities.

They are a cult for sure. They also, IMO, run in a pyramid scheme where it's members are required to pay 10% of their income to maintain membership. The goal is to reach the top of the ladder and elevate into god-hood. Of course blacks are under a curse from god so are unable to achieve this yet they will happily accept the money from black folks anyway. I have never run across a god who began as a Mormon and worked his or her way up so it's safe to say it's an unachievable goal. It is sad that they invest millions of their tax free dollars into anti-gay campaigns though, there are lots of needy children around who don't have their basic needs met and could use a meal or some clothes maybe. What is pathetic to me is that there are gay Mormons, who help finance the big hate corporation, people are Mormon by choice, and they can walk away anytime but they stay and continue to give money. So while they slam their own cult, I slam them for staying and continuing to be part of the prob.
