Did Glee Cast Kurt's Boyfriend?

CHORD OVERSTREET CHRIS COLFER X390 | ADVOCATE.COM

ICarly star Chord Overstreet has been cast for the upcoming season of Glee... and it looks likely he's going to be playing Kurt's boyfriend.

Creator Ryan Murphy has said that the second season of Glee would feature Kurt (played by Chris Colfer) in a relationship. He said the role would be cast after a nation-wide search.

According to Movieline, Overstreet will play Sam, an athlete who "starts off as Finn's protégé but becomes his competition."

The second season of the Emmy-nominated show starts Sept. 21.

@Charles the asian guy not having many / any lines is party of the tongue in cheekness of the show. In one episode the asian girl refered to him as the "innamed asian guy", it was pretty funny. Besides he's just a dancer, and not a integral part of the show..

Yay Kurt! Now if we could just get Mercedes a boyfriend and the two silent Black and Asian minorities to have some lines. This show is pretty good but would be a lot better if it did not break into song every five seconds (often where it doesn't make any sense) like a Bollywood movie. Plus the songs that are chosen are often not even that good. The last song that was anywhere near a hit, including the supporting video, was "Bust Your Windows" and most recently "Vogue." Hopefully the next season sees some changes in these areas. Until then, thank you Tivo... I'll continue fastforwarding through the highly annoying Lea Michelle and Cory Monteith solos and duets. Which reminds me, are we EVER going to see her two Gay dads that she was talking all about in season one and who have never made an appearance?

You know, Mark, I really don't get your deal. Why does a dude need to be in a relationship to be ok? A crap ton of us choose to remain single for much or most of our lives. Drop the heteronormativity and move on.

Kurt is the ONLY recurring character on "Glee" who has not had a romantic relationship. This sends a strong signal that being gay isn't okay. I sure hope this is rectified next season. I'll believe it when I see it. I think we've all seen enough of Kurt being bitchy and queeny and lusting after his straight stepbrother. Let's hope they also don't bring back the gay pedophile teacher.
