Catholic Church Condemns Jerusalem Pride

fouad twal x390

Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal, the highest-ranking Catholic official in Jerusalem, has gone public in denouncing the city’s gay pride parade, releasing a pointed statement Friday.

“Its organizers and the authorities who allow it care neither for the feelings of families nor the holiness of this city,” he said.

Twal believes the Israeli authorities should have intervened and banned the entire event, out of respect for the Holy Land.

The parade attracted 3,000 people Thursday.

One more sleaze-bag catholic prelate, one more morally-bankrupt palatine bishop in the unholy catholic church- who cares what they say? It's what they've done that condemns them. And to all of those gays who had the misfortune to grow-up gay catholic- let's hope you can avoid a lifetime of hurt. In the meantime, here's a hilarious smackdown that's "fun" to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VABSoHYQr6k.

And the Israeli government should ban any displays of Catholicism, since they illegally invade the Holy Land and killed the local residents..l.Muslims, Orthodox Christians, and Jews. Not to mention their CENTURIES of torturing and killing countless Jews. I think the mere sight of a Catholic symbol would be offensive to most Israelis. The prelate should not cast stones! (which is what I believe his Lord once said).

Esteban was maybe born in the US, but he's a great advertisement for that Arizona immigration law. We don't need millions of dumbfuck Catholics from Latin America who believe such crazy things.

Jeffrey i appreciate the input and i understand there is some frustration and victimization that comes with growing up queer Catholic because that's exactly what I am. But it makes perfect sense what the Church teaches. Homosexuality, whether we like to admit it or not, is not what produces babies and raises them. That doesn't make it bad, it just doesn't make it viable by itself so in the past of humankind, it was to be avoided for the survival of the group.Today,of course we live in a much different (and bigger) "group" so those tactics for survival might not be as relevant but that is what Church teaching is rooted in so while it might not be relevant, it certainly isn't all crazy. and "hate the sin love the sinner" is very healthy to practice. if we all hated the sinner, everyone would have everyone and there'd be no sense of social cohesion because we all sin in some way or another. who subsidizes Church charity in the Third World?

Esteban, can you not see the double standard of hypocritical lies you are continuing in the epic Catholic Dogma Society? What you are saying is that "it is OK with the Catholic Church if you are gay, just not gay and breathing."
