Colbert Warns of "Arma-gay-ddon"

ColbertProp8x390 (Screengrab) | Advocate.com

Stephen Colbert expressed his fears about “Arma-gay-ddon,” the trail of “tastefully arranged destruction” that could follow the overturn of Proposition 8.

Colbert also tackles conservatives’ concern about the fact that U.S. district judge Vaughn Walker, who decided the case, is gay.

“Judge Walker’s big gay bias is all over this decision,” he said. “He even signed it gay: 'It is sooo ordered.'”

Rob: you are a prime example of the original meaning of "political correctness" - unable to take a joke, unable to tolerate any deviation from what you think is the ideal approach or view. The great irony, of course, is that the most "politically correct" people today are the conservatives who so often use that epithet. As for Colbert, his satire is spot on, and a very effective "weapon" in this battle. As usual, he described what he does perfectly, asked how his kids react to the show, he responded, "They understand that daddy is being professionally ridiculous". Ridiculous, yes, but also profound!

His "plan" for how straight people can "ruin" gay marriage was both hilarious and, in a surprise ending, slightly poignant. Cobert is a comedic genious. Very glad to have both him and Jon Stewart on our side.

Yup people I get the satire but I think some of you missed my point so let me clarify. I'm tired of the hate. I'm tired of the haters. I'm tired of the hating pot-stirrers. And I'm even tired of the supportive pot-stirrers. There are extremists on both sides and I'm starting to feel like they're all just participating in what has become our regular Hate Week ritual on the topic of the moment that they use to enrich themselves. Enough of hashing and rehashing the media-manufactured rhetoric. This spectacle is a distraction from the work we need to do.
