Marines’ Gay Attack Hearing Postponed

MARINES Keil Cronauer Christopher C. Stanzel X390 (MUG) | ADVOCATE.COM

The hearing for two marines accused of attacking a gay man in Savannah, Georgia has been delayed until September 9, reports Savannah Morning News.

Defense attorneys for Cpl. Keil Cronauer, 22, and Lance Cpl. Christopher C. Stanzel, 23, have asked for a continuance until they have time to review a video provided by prosecutors in the case.

The two men are charged with misdemeanor battery in connection with an attack on Kieran Daly, 26. Daly was found unconscious June 12 and officers saw two men, who were later identified as the defendants, fleeing the scene.

I konw the white shirt young man. I konw his father was not homophobic. But I do konw that there is a family history of depression. Chris' dad hung himself 1996. Assuming Chris did the hitting, he should be fserve his time. But military life is very hard and more difficult than even prison. Make the boy do community service for gay and lesbian groups for reparation. He need education more than punishment, but both would be preferable. Make him serve his time in the military. A man's brain doesn't stop developing until he reaches 25. Give the kids a chance to grow up, serve their time and make reparation with some sort of stiff sentence. Everybody has problems. He may in fact hate himself. I know his dad would be sad.

This should not be viewed as a hate crime or gay bashing nor should these two be charge with a just simple battery. These two should be charged with a TERRORIST ACT for that is what they are terrorist by wanting to inflect body harm to a person who is gay therefore giving rise to others that they need to watch out. And they should be charged with this act and can be should the DA wish to charge these 2 with such a charge. If more were charged with the act of terrorist then less would want to do thing such as beating a human. After that they should be sent to Ft. Levenworth for the rest of there lives doing hard time from day light till dark with out ever having any visitors from the outside world and that includes any family members. No tv, mag., news papers etc nothing. To be striped of their rank infront of their company and to be dishonorable discharge and all records of their service should be destroyed and there name never to be wispered among their platoon

i kind of wish we didn't refer to every basher as "gay" it's feel like we are using the word as an insult like hetero-kids--i get the intent--those that can't deal with who they really are, lash out at every reminder in an attempt to prove they are not what they hate most about themselves--still it just feels messed up

These guys are fundamentally insipid little cowards. Is there a worse disgrace for a Marine? Equal rights under the law should also be balanced with equal punishment under the law. These guys need to be beaten unconscious so they will fully understand what they did. And yes, Mr. blue shirt is clearly gay, and Mr. white shirt is filled with self-loathing. No sympathy for them in spite of the fact that they are products of their perverted and obscene upbringing by hate-filled ignoramuses.

This actually happened in Savannah, Ga, and it is par for the course down here. They should be charged with felony assualt, and a hate crime, but Georgia has no such law. I live in Savannah, and although I love this very beautiful town, gay people are still treated as third class citizens by the authorities in our local goverment. Even though the gay community has played a large part in making the town what it is today. I hope that the city prosecutor will make sure that these two thugs are held accountable and send a message that violence like this will not be tolerated in Savannah. I call them thugs because they do not deserve to be called Marines. A Marine is more honorable then these two pieces of crap. As for the video, I know for a fact that the city has cameras all over downtown.
