Irish Protest for Equality

Calling for full marriage equality and adoption rights for gays, 2,000 people marched in Dublin on Sunday.

The Irish government last month passed a bill establishing civil partnerships, offering many of the same rights as marriage, though it didn't directly address adoption rights for gay parents. Working their way from City Hall to the Department of Justice, the marchers called for adoption rights and an end to the two separate systems of marriage and civil partnerships.

"A separate system is not an equal system." march organizer Max Krzyzanowski told The Irish Times.

What great news for the rest of the world. Meanwhile, what is wrong with the USA regarding marriage equality? We are really being left behind.

And another 'predominately catholic' country makes further strides for LGBT equality. Isn't it wonderful to note how many countries; Spain; Portugal, Argentina; Mexico, etc., begin to move forward once the influence of the catholic church is muted... I salute our Irish brothers and sisters and wish them the best!
