Conservatives Answer "The Call"

MIKE HUCKABEE X390 (GETTY) | ADVOCATE.COM

Conservatives who follow Mike Huckabee and the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins are gathering this weekend in Sacramento for "The Call" — an event that Courage Campaign bloggers are calling “NOM summer tour on steroids.”

Organized by Lou Engle — who called the legalization of same-sex marriage in California in 2008 “more demonic than Islam" — the event has the support of Huckabee, who is urging followers to “turn this nation back to God, as Jesus is our only hope,” in a promotional video.

    D. Johnson has the laid out best option for us if the Christian radicals gain enough power to start turning-back the clock. The right-wing bigots have been getting their shorts twisted in a knot lately because events are definitely moving in the direction of equality, even if not as quickly as we'd like, here and all over the world.

Huckabee's first loyalty is to his buddies in the religious right. He's a former Baptist minister from North Little Rock who has compared gay marriage to pedophilia, bestiality, incest and bigamy.

What we as members of the LGBT community need to do is attack this head on the way Dr King and Gandhi did, by mass peaceful protest. We need to march on Washington D.C. and all State capiots in record numbers. We need to march with our lovers, friends, parents, children, and families. Show America and the world who is being denied their civil rights. March in your uniforms and work clothes, with peaceful and loving signs, not hate. Get the sympathy of the people behind us, show the world who the haters really are in this world. Jesus would never agree with these hateful people, lets take a page from history and do what all great civil rights leaders of the past have done. Peacefully protest and March. We need the Million Mo March.

I sunk $50000 trying 2 defeat prop 1, Prop 8, and supporting the Washington state "everything but the word marriage", I have two comments. 1. No matter what Obama and the dems haven't done, you don't know what Nazi America will look like if the republcians win in the fall. It has nothing to do with excess spending, they are bent on turning America into a christo-facist state version of Saudi arabia. Where gays get their heads chopped off, women dodn't ddare report rapes because the Judge decides what "god" wants, which is usually to whip the woman for it had to be their fault. 2. I do have an understanding of what nazi Germany was about. We are Jewish, our grandparents emigrated here around 1900 from E. Europe. Siblings of my grandparents never left E. Europe. Today no body knows their names. They were never found after wwII despite extensive research. including in Israel. America under these religious thugs will be A nAzi christian monstrosity. Vote Dem or America may die

jackson in providence///P TOWN, right? I'm sure dear. Look, we have to start/stop thinking about these bastrds and biatches going to hell. There is no heaven or hell. We must stop them here and now. In this reality. November is not far away. Get all your friends together and lets put on a party no one will forget. Part of this is marching. Demanding our rights. We might even hire some blacks as backup. Maybe even some cute chicanos. Am I dreaming? perhaps...

That's exactly right. Conservatives are only interested in turning back people's rights...woman and abortion, blacks and civil rights, gays and visibility and job/marriage rights.

I didn't realize Huckabee was quite that crazy. It's gay Christians that need to rise up against this fanatical call for our destruction.
