Family Indicted for Kidnapping Gay Teen

ANGEL FACEBOOK DRAG KIDNAPPING X390 (FAIR) | ADVOCATE.COM

The family of an Israeli gay man was charged with kidnapping, assaulting, and falsely imprisoning him after he posted photos of himself dressed in drag on Facebook.

The family was indicted in Tel Aviv district court on Thursday. According to the charges, as recently as a week ago, the family arrived at 19-year-old Angel’s apartment, attacked him, and sprayed his eyes with tear gas.

They then forced him into a car, proceeded to tie his hands with belts, cover his eyes with tape, and threatened to stab him if he didn't keep quiet. They then drove him out of Tel Aviv toward his hometown of Tamra, chained him in a room and left him for several hours.

Three weeks ago his mother sent him the following message on Facebook: "Either erase the pictures from Facebook or your family will come and get you and this will be your end.”

The family is alleged to have kidnapped him on multiple other occasions. I was certain that I was going to die, and they also told me so,” Angel told authorities.

Stevemd2, what the hell is your comment about. Its totally unrelated to this unimportant news item. Why do you keep on writing the same stupid comment about your non-trip to Israel. I counted 15 times in the last 2 months that you told the same story. Get off the internet you old fool-loser.

To finish my comment re why I didn't go to Israel, and Fundamentalists monstrosities.. I wonder if the crazies who said gays were worse then bird flu, were egged on by Pope RATZI. In his xmas address of 2008, only about 3 weeks earlier, he said that gays would bring about the end of the human race. Nice guy huh. From the Pope RATZI who in 2009 also UNexcommunicated a Bishop Williamson, who is a holocaust denier. BTW, all these people talk together. their common bond is not religion, but hatred regardless of religion. I would gladly go to israel - if the Israelis captured the killer. And I could be his hangman. Making him the only the second person Israel has executed , (Eichman was the other). as a msg 2 the fundies What gays might well bring about is the end of the cAtholic church. Who also have yet to excommunicate the worst murderer in History, Hitler. Born and Baptised catholic in very catholic Austria in 1888. Who documents how he learned to hate Jews in Mein Kampf.

AS a jew, marrried to a jewish woman, I refused to go to Israel with my wife in June of 2009. Because a couple of the Ultra-orthodox Hareidim in the Knesset said "GAYS were worse then Bird Flu". Which is a call for the extermination of gay people by people whose close relatives most likely shared hitlers ovens with the gays of Germany. I also said "something terrible is going to happen" And it did - 2 weeks after my wife returned, someone -apparently an Ultraorthodix, went to the Gay community center in Tel Aviv, and killed two women, paralyzed a couple more, and 10 or so were wounded. And then a member of the Hariedem division in the army said "this was only the beginning, the next one will be worse".. The message here is two fold - fundamentalists, be they christian, jewish, Islamic, are monstrosities wedded to words written thousands of years ago in an age of ignorance and superstition. They are the base core of the repub party - vote for them and guess what will happen here

BTW Sam- I do know that there are families in Kentucky that would do that. There are families in California that would do that. Have you ever been to Modesto? I do not discriminate, I call out all of the religions for their bs. But, let me ask you this? Are you afraid of the Hindus? There are many more Indians in this country. But I guess your answer is no. Why? MAybe because they don't intimidate others with their religion. Yes, they have extremists, which religion doesn't? But, not to the same extent. I agree with you about the christians, they can be equally as nasty. My idea, is to do a "Modern Day England" and put all religious nuts, extreme muslims, christians, jehhovah's witness, mormons, jews, whatever fanatics, into a spaceship and send them off on a one way journey into space with everything they need. They can kneel, bow, for/to whatever they want to and I am sure that their gods will save them. We on the other hand, will rejoice, because they have risen.

Yes, I have been waiting for the moderate muslims to speak up. It's pretty quiet our there, don't you think? I sometimes doubt that there is anybody out there. I know that isn't true because I have moderate muslim friends. In terms of muslims in America, as long as any person that wants to live here accepts the Constitution as the ultimate and eternal law of the land, with no other law of consequence, then I am fine with them becoming an American. If, on the other hand, you believe in SHaria law, then get the fuck out of here.

There are Christian families in Kentucky that would do the same thing. Possibly we can find common ground with moderate muslims to fight fanatical fundamentalism, our common enemy.

Michaelandfred- Hmmm, I think he would say I told you so. This is an Arabic muslim family that lives in Israel, so therefore "Israeli". I am sure that those are hard words for you to hear and now of course you will completely change your point of view and say how Michael Lucas was right, correct? Of course not, you would both just prefer to keep your heads up your asses and pretend like the muslims are our friends. But thanks for proving once agains that you don't know anything.

I live in Tel Aviv and it is one of the most gay friendly cities in the world. This story was about a Palestinian man who escaped to freedom in Tel Aviv. Gays in the Palestinian areas and in all Arab countries live in fear of their lives. Gay people in Israel, regardless of religious or political backgrounds, live openly.

Wes, the info I have is called triagulation. I checked with other news sources (BBC, Ynet etc). The story is that a young palestinian muslim who worked as a cross dresser and left his village and moved to Tel Aviv to be with a boy friend was kidnapped twice and tortured by his mom, dad, uncl and brother. In each of the cases he was saved by the israeli police, eventually his family was indicted for kidnap and torture. Unfortunately, the first comment already indicated that the commentator assumed that this was a jewish family-a proof that jews are homophobic and michael Lucas is wrong. your comment regarding the 19 year old making his own mind obviously is stupid and make no sense at all in the context of this news article.
