Glenn Beck's Antigay Arsenal

GLENN BECK X390 (PUBLICITY) | ADVOCATE.COM

Despite the recent revelation that Tea Party figure and Fox News host Glenn Beck thinks marriage equality is not a threat to society, many of his cohorts disagree.

Liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America released a list of some of Beck's closest conspirators, many of them no stranger to antigay crusading. The list includes evangelical leader James Dobson; John Hagee, who blamed a gay pride event for the wrath of Hurricane Katrina; and David Barton, who vehemently opposes gays serving openly in the military.

Visit MediaMatters.org for the full list.

In Beck's defense (wow!) conservative Christians like James Dobson think Beck is in a Satanic cult.

I find myself becoming more and more disappointed with The Advocate, the more I read. It's trying SO hard to point at any and all conservatives in the media and cry "Homophobe!" while it lets the "friends" of the gay copmmunity have a pass when they aren't doing anything for us other than paying "lip service". Beck's a twit, but I'd rather have him on my side than O'Reilly or Hannity. When someone actually stands up to them when they try to say that we are a "threat" to society, we should thank and applaud him, instead, this article wants to hammer him FOR defending us. This is yet another "non-story" in the pages of The Advocate. Libertarian-leaning people are going to be more on our side than Republicans OR Democrats. Marriage Equality is one of their platforms. Maybe the "big two" aren't actually trying to do anything other than buy votes...

Are you that desperate Advocate? Really? You know the one thing Beck does is that he make assertions about people through their associations. And here you are CAUGHT DOING THE SAME THING. You are no better than this fake Beck, who pretends to be a tea party person yet laughs at them and back stab them at the same time. Advocate you really need to hire some writers who actually THINK before publishing anything so asinine, so stupid, and so relentlessly hypocritical.

Beck believes God is married and has sex with his wife. Beck is a Mormon. Beck supposes Jesus had to have been married; otherwise, how could Jesus have gotten into heaven ..since you must be married to get into heaven? Beck is a Mormon. Beck believes the virgin Mary had sexual relations when Jesus was conceived. Since God has a fully functional penis, Jesus is the actual son of God, not the spiritual, the son as you are the child of your father, the son of God. Beck is a Mormon. Mormons shun the Christian cross faster than a vampire; it's true, to them, the cross is a form of idolatry. Now, I don't care about religion, but yeah, sure ya'Betcha "conservative Christians aren't so nice and do care about these things. Please point out to any "conservative" that Mormons reject the Trinity and believe God is married to a goddess with whom he as sex..Perhaps it's past time for Mormons to be reminded they ALSO are a minority population. Why must only we play nice.., fair is fair, eh?

"Beck's closest conspirators"?! What is Beck and this group conspiring to do? What is the evidence of this alleged conspiracy and why haven't you published it? Or could it be that you've forgotten that words have meanings again?

Wake up people! This guy says he doesn't see anything wrong with Gay Marriage. This guy has the straight community by the balls. He just had thousands travel to Washington to hear him speak on the LIncoln Memorial steps ( coincidently on the anniversary of MLK's I have a dream speech). We need all the allies we can get. This guy is a snake but for now he is helping our cause. I am 52 years old and am running out of time to marry the man I love. Wish me luck that I make it alter while I am still standing.

Jessica, I am from New Orleans and remember thinking the same thing. The French Quarter was mostly uneffected by the flooding as was the Marigny and Bywater areas. They are all primarily gay or gay friendly areas of town.

I don't care who Glenn Beck surrounds himself with. What I do care about is that our president has wasted almost 2 years AND that he pretends to be a dear friend to the LGBT community. Not only this, but that he does NOT support LGBT equality. Obama wants gays at the back of the domestic partnership bus. Let's stop caring about Beck and start calling upon our elected Democrats to stop taking the LGBT community for granted.
