CPAC Losing Social Conservative Crowd

CPAC X390 (GETTY) | ADVOCATE.COM

The Conservative Political Action Conference has veered too liberal in inviting the gay Republican group GOProud, according to two national antigay organizations that will not attend the February event in Washington, D.C.

Both Concerned Women for America and the Family Research Council will not participate at the 2011 CPAC, according to WorldNetDaily

"We've been very involved in CPAC for over a decade and have managed a couple of popular sessions," said Tom McClusky, senior vice president for FRCAction, the lobbying arm of Family Research Council. "However, we will no longer be involved with CPAC because of the organization's financial mismanagement and movement away from conservative principles."

Concerned Women for America president Penny Nance told WND her group would not participate in CPAC "in part" because of GOProud.

GOProud's participation in CPAC has irked social conservatives before: Last year groups led by Liberty University School of Law revoked their sponsorship when event organizers refused to disinvite the gay organization.

The only kind of families that this bogus "Family Research Council" researches are same-sex families. And they only want to "prove what they already know" about those families, as one of their "researchers" puts it. Why are these assclowns getting so much national attention? They don't even run the GOP anymore!

Maybe this is the first step in the GOP moving on from hating gays, back to their long time principles of hating racial minorities and poor people.

@Pete in Milwaukee Now that we have a Republican enclave here in Wisconsin, please be more careful with your words as they fragile egos (and I couldn't more agree with your "bitchy, bitchy, bitchy" commentary as I need all the chuckles I can get this New Year 2011!!)

Yeah, well don't expect to sit in a big circle singing Kumbaya with the GOP anytime soon Roz. Your mist-filled eyes might have blurred that part of the story where it mentions the growing numbers of party faithful who are boycotting the convention because they're letting those 'perverts' attend (their terms, not mine). Why don't you just wait a bit before uncorking the bubbly to see if the rest of the GOP caves and agrees to disinvite the 'sexual deviants.' ("We regret to inform you that due to a clerical error an invitation to CPAC was mistakenly sent to GOProud. We apologize for any inconvenience this unfortunate error may have created. Perhaps one day we will be more tolerant of homosexuality, bestiality, necrophilia, and other sexual perversions. Until then, please stay (far) away. At this joyous time CPAC wishes you and your partners a Happy Holiday! Reminder: annual dues are payable by cash, check, or credit card. Please make all checks out to CPAC finance committee. Thank you.")

It's a good day for the Republican party when it stands for the Constitutional guarantee of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness for all. No more second class citizenship for LGBT folk.

No RK, Tony Perkins doesn't have to worry about being banned, even though, yes, he is mentioned prominently by SPLC as head of FRC, now officially a hate group, and as personnally responsible for spreading some of the vile lies which earned FRC their new, well-deserved label. CPAC has no problem with Tony, and Maggie, another awardee of the hate-group club, or any other anti-gay haters. They're all warmly welcomed, with open arms, as one would expect from such an intolerant organization as CPAC. It's GOProud, that queer organization of ultra-conservative gays who are not wanted by Tony, Maggie and other haters. Those poor fools are are not labeled as haters, they are the hated, the unwelcome, the spit-upon, because they espouse the cause of lgbt equality. It's hard to believe anyone would join GOProud, kind of like joining Jews for Hitler (if such a club ever really existed), these crazy GOProud dudes apparently want to work for change from inside the conservative movement. go figure).

Hmm, isn't the Family Research Council led by the Klans man Tony Perkins considered a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Center? As such they should be banned period. They need to be destroyed along with Perkins. He is the epitomy of racism, hate, bigtroy, and basically the anti-Christ living among us.

CPAC is apparently embracing fiscal, rather than social conservatism. Good for GOProud for staying the course. The Republican party, while associated with religious conservatism, has financial and governmental philosophies that are worth examining. It will be a great day for this country when we can look at the Democrats and Republicans without regard to their policies on gays because both will be accepting. This is an incremental step.

I have said this before and I must say it again: For the life of me, I cannot understand how a rationale person in the LGBT community can belong to a patriarchal, misogynic, homo and transphobic, "Drunk on religion ," political organization like the Republican Party? Its like "cutting off your nose to spite your face, or shooting yourself in the foot!" These poor misguided folks must be either delusional and living in "fairy land "or sadomasochists.
