"I just got some amazing news. The court has granted Portia's name change. She's now officially Portia Winfrey." Ellen DeGeneres via Twitter, September 23, 2010
Successful primary challenge to Obama might be good, if someone appears that could win the general election, but problem is, I don't see that materializing. There is no way that the GOP will do anything for anyone if they win. Obama appears to be learning from some of his mistakes, still two years to go until elections. Time will tell, I suppose. Meanwhile, pressure should be maintained via the courts regardless.
Interesting how the comments went off on a tangent about Obama discontent. I agree with Pete and Raphael. It annoyed me that he tried to claim a victory on something he had nothing to do with. The guy is a dud. Not as bad as Grampy McSame would have been, but still a dud. I hope he gets a primary challenge next year. Maybe that would wake him up. But I doubt it.
The professional Left is upset because it expects miracles, such as Obama magically legalizing SS marriage, which no president has the power to do. OTOH, I can't imagine any president other than Obama being the first to ever mention "nonbelievers" in their inaugural address. This was not just a "pep talk" - it was groundbreaking. So was his DADT repeal speech. The "scorched earth" mentality of all or nothing will not bring progress. Contrary to the usual, false dialectic of the Left, which has led entire continents to self-destruct, there will be no Phoenix rising out of the ashes from that approach. There will only be lots of ashes. I suspect (and hope) that Obama will surprise everyone and win reelection in 2012.
I absolutely agree with Raphael. Those are the only comments in this article that indicate any depth of thought at all. Another pep rally quote from Obama? I want action from him, not just talk. He's so disappointing because he has no balls at all. Not just in this matter, but in all political matters. Maybe Hillary could loan him one of her balls. Good thing for Obama that Lyndon Johnson had some courage back in 1964. As for the other quotes, most of them weren't even worth reading.
AMEN Demian! ...............Demian whoever you might be, thank you for speaking up. ................Demian got it right.
All you "progressive" whiners who complain about Obama know nothing. Zero. Aside from making the mistake touching the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - which is a real hot potato - the man is wiser than most people think. Do you really think that DADT repeal would have been signed at all, or that gays, or atheists, would ever be mentioned in a decent light by a certain McCain/Palin ticket?
Raphael got it right. But, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE ADVOCATE, GET YOUR TECH FOLKS TO SHOW YOU HOW TO PUT 10 SHORT ITEMS ON LESS THAN 10 PAGES THAT EACH TAKE LONGER TO LOAD THAN TO READ!!!!! happy new year to all
Raphael. whoever you might be, thank you for speaking up.
fuck obama. he doesn't deserve our attention, let alone our respect.
AMEN, Raphael!
