Enrique Iglesias Strips for David LaChapelle

Enrique Iglesias Sad Eyes 01 x560 (grab) | ADVOCATE.COM

Out filmmaker-photographer David LaChapelle is known for his provocative collaborations with divas from Christina Aguilera to Angelina Jolie. But in 2000 he sexed up Enrique Iglesias for a music video that has gone unreleased — until now.

LaChapelle directed the video for Iglesias’s remake of the Bruce Springsteen song “Sad Eyes.” Though Iglesias spends much of the video in bed (and in a bathtub) with a woman, for the number of nude shots of Iglesias alone, this video is sure to up his stock with gay fans.

Word is the steamy shots and an image of a stripper pole growing out from between his legs caused Iglesias's record label to shelve the video in 2000.

Check out the video and some juicy screen grabs here and on the following pages ...

Dieter, I usually agree with your posts but you lost me when you wrote 'no wonder the conservatives hate us so much'. Anti-Gay bigots don't hate us because we like to look at Enrique or porn. They hate gay sex, period. I don't think we should ask our gay publications to cater to 'conservatives who hate us' but to gay readers. Self loving gay people (and those who support us) also love gay sex- both in acts and in pictures. I love looking at hot guys. I don't try to be Miss False Virtue as if that would please our adversaries. My advice to anyone who objects to this page, move on. The Advocate-which once had a sex ad section many years ago- is slowly realizing how sex sells.

Word! I absolutely agree with Dante. Besides, when you're running your own magazine, you can do as you wish. Until then, leave them be. Perhaps the article wasn't to your taste, but for others, quite the opposite.

So Dieter, is that what the editors should concern themselves with -- what the right wing idiots think of us? This constant attack on the magazine because they actually write stories about -- gasp! -- hot guys! is getting a little old. Like most men, I have a sex drive and I like seeing sexy images of the gender that I'm attracted to. Enrique is, by my taste, a hot guy. Should we all be neutered in public, so we don't dare offend those sensitive straights? The Advocate doesn't only cover political news, it also covers arts and entertainment and ALWAYS HAS. A little titillation sells a lot of magazines, and that's what the magazine business is about. Why should LGBT mags be different than any other? Have you ever looked at DETAILS? Or WIRED? Plenty of sex mixed in with the politics and culture. There's no reason why male Advocate readers should pretend we're not turned on by a hot guy. Careful, I think your internalized homophobia is showing...
