Ask 24-year-old
actor Willam Belli why he’s already had liposuction
and Botox treatments and you’ll get an
immediate answer: “HDTV!” No stranger to
nips and tucks (or Nip/Tuck, where he played
transgender woman Cherry Peck), Belli often runs straight to
the doctor after seeing himself on TV. “My
first episode of Nip/Tuck aired and I was like, Damn,
girl!” he says. “I was like Sean Connery
with all the bulges.” Belli had his first Botox
shot at age 21, and he has no intention of stopping anytime
soon. “I just did Women’s Murder
Club with Miss Angie Harmon in December and I
noticed some lines on the visage,” he says.
“So I shot it up again.”
Although Belli
appreciates some things about his appearance -- especially
his strong chin and jaw -- some of those features can become
liabilities for a cross-dressing actor. “When
I’m a girl, I look like Jay Leno in
drag,” he says. “I hate it when they shoot me
from below. It makes me look like Mount
Rushmore.” He’s also comfortable with his
weight, but hasn’t always been. “When I
was 8, my grandmother came to my pool party and told
me I needed a bra,” he says. Liposuction at 20 helped
him shed pounds that dieting couldn’t shake.
“If I worked out, I’d be thrilled [with
my body],” he says. “But the gym is so far
away. It’s in my guesthouse. It’s a
walk!”
