For the second
straight year, a German zoo has tried to seduce its gay
male penguins with female penguins from Sweden. And for the
second straight year, the march of these penguins was
a pride parade.
Last year the females were brought in too late
for pairing. This year the ladies were there in time
but, according to zoo officials, were too shy. Zoo
spokesman Heike Kueck told the German Press Agency DPA,
"The Swedes are rather standoffish."
Once again, four males and the zoo's four local
females paired up. And the rest of the zoo's 22
penguins formed their own male-male couples. Kueck
says that's normal penguin behavior when females are in
short supply. (Sirius OutQ News)
