weekend at the Zimbabwe International Book Fair in
Harare.
Book fair
executive director Greenfield Chilongo confirmed that
equipment belonging to the organization had been
damaged. The Zimbabwean government at one point banned
GALZ from exhibiting at the book fair, but the group
won a high court ruling banning President Robert
Mugabe's government from interfering with its
activities. Mugabe has in the past condemned gays and
lesbians, saying they are "worse than dogs and pigs."
