"Gaysta" rapper Deadlee to headline hip-hop tour

Entertainment News 2007-01-25 "Gaysta" rapper Deadlee to headline hip-hop tour Los Angeles–based gay rapper Deadlee has announced that he will headline what is being billed as the first

Los Angeles–based gay rapper Deadlee has announced that he will headline what is being billed as the first regional tour of gay, lesbian, and bisexual hip-hop artists.

The 10-city Homorevolution Tour 2007 is slated to feature several gay and lesbian MCs, including Johnny Dangerous, Delacruz, Melange Lavonne, Salvimex, Bigg Nugg, and JFP, according to AllHipHop.com.

"The HomoRevolution Tour is a direct challenge to the old status quo in hip-hop," Deadlee told AllHipHop.com. "Times are changing, and if openly gay rappers aren't invited, then we are kicking the door in and inviting ourselves.... We are taking the mic. It's our turn too."

Aside from retaliating against homophobic rappers like 50 Cent and penning songs for motion pictures, Deadlee will host Logo's music show NewNowNext premiering February 4.

The tour will begin in San Diego on March 29 and ends in Dallas on April 8. (The Advocate)
