call with MGM executives, United Artist bosses Paula
Wagner and Tom Cruise announced they are making a
Birdcage sequel, reports the New York Daily
News' Rush and Molloy.
Speaking to
execs, Wagner listed some of UA's upcoming projects,
which include a sequel to The Birdcage, the 1996 gay-themed comedy hit.
The Birdcage, which starred Robin Williams and
Nathan Lane, was a remake of the 1978 French film La Cage
aux Folles.
Wagner and Cruise
took over the reins of UA, an MGM subsidiary, in
