Former Arkansas
governor Mike Huckabee has surged to a virtual tie in
Iowa with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, though
he still lags well behind leader Rudy Giuliani in most
national polls. In Iowa, Huckabee leads Romney by
about 2 to 1 among evangelical voters, a pivotal group
among likely caucusgoers. Half of Huckabee's supporters say
they are very enthusiastic about him, nearly double
the fervor shown by Romney's backers.
