Compaign has selected Speaker of the House Nancy
Pelosi to receive its 2007 National Equality Award at the
organization's 11th Annual National Dinner in
Washington, D.C., on October 6, according to a press
release. Pelosi will also act as keynote speaker at the
event.
"We could not be
more excited about recognizing Speaker Pelosi's
efforts on behalf of GLBT Americans by presenting her with
the National Equality Award and having her as keynote
speaker," said HRC President Joe Solmonese in the
release.
Past honorees
have included Bill Clinton, Maya Angelou, Billie Jean King,
Al Gore, and Steven Spielberg. (The Advocate)
