Florida voters to reject Amendment 2, the "Florida
Marriage Protection Amendment."

Robocalls have
gone out to about 250,000 Florida Democrats. In the
message Clinton speaks out against the amendment, which
would constitutionally define marriage in the state
between a man and a woman. Written in vague language,
the amendment could have drastic effects on not just
gay couples but any unmarried persons with domestic
partnerships -- including seniors, who could
share health care and pension benefits. So if
Amendment 2 passes, the state could be flooded with
costly litigation, the SayNo2 campaign points out.
Clinton's exact
wording was: "Hello, this is President Bill Clinton.
I'm calling my friends in Florida today to ask you to vote
'no' on Amendment 2. Amendment 2 could actually keep
people from visiting each other in hospitals or
interfere with other health care decisions. That's why
Barack Obama, Hillary, and I all oppose it. Please stay in
the voting booth until you find Amendment 2 and vote
no. Thank you so much for helping us defeat Amendment
