If you live in California, former president Bill Clinton may be giving you a ring.

The 42nd president's voice can be heard on robocalls made to California voters urging them to vote no on Proposition 8: "This is Bill Clinton calling to ask you to vote 'no' on Proposition 8 on Tuesday, November 4th. Proposition 8 would use state law to single out one group of Californians to be treated differently -- discriminating against members of our family, our friends, and our coworkers.

"If I know one thing about California, I know that is not what you're about. That is not what America is about. Please vote 'no' on 8. It's unfair and it's wrong. Thank you."

Barack is trying to win an election! For a man who uses us in every single address he makes to "unite" this country -- how can anyone really criticize him?! What other politician has EVER included gays in their stump speeches? Give him a break! And imagine if he has a majority of dems in the Senate and Congress...unlike Clinton, Barack would ACTUALLY be ABLE to DO something!! I can't WAIT for tomorrow night!! (And I pray I will still be married to the love of my life on Wed.)

I am strangley drawn to the Clintons, kinda have been for a while now, I was waiting for Bill to make some kind of statement on Prop 8 and his support for the No vote in this way is brill, it is vital however that the people of California come out in droves on November 4th and reject Prop 8, anthony

Gee. Yes, Barack would be better. But for those of us in California who would rather win this than bitch about whether or not Barry is doing everything we want him to do, having Bill Frickin' Clinton make robocalls is an ENORMOUS coup. I'm thrilled! And it goes a long way to make up for DOMA. Not enough. But it's something.

So Bill Clinton can speak out against Prop 8, but Obama who spent the entire Primary trashing Hillary, and doing his best to portray himself as a friend to the LGBT community; He can't even film a PSA, or record a lousy Robocall? And yet Obama's campaign expects gays to vote for him in droves. PATHETIC

Obama does not support Prop. 8. I would much rather him voice that support in a subtle way and win the election than to energise the base of the Republican party by making "robo-calls". McCain/Palincunt support Prop. 8 and have voiced that support repeatedly. Grow up children - this is politics.
