Ricky Martin "Coming Out" a Lie

Last week, via a leaked cover line and a vague Twitter post, Puerto Rican magazine TV Aqui suggested that Ricky Martin had inched toward the closet door in its latest issue by saying his heart "could belong to a man or a woman."

Last week, via a leaked cover line and a vague Twitter post, Puerto Rican magazine TV Aqui suggested that Ricky Martin had inched toward the closet door in its latest issue by saying his heart "could belong to a man or a woman."

Now, with the issue on newsstands, it turns out the magazine cover text and Twitter post were nothing more than a ploy to get people to buy the magazine -- because that isn't what he said at all.

In translated text of the video footage, Martin says: "Eh, the heart of Ricky Martin? Look, whether it has or doesn't have a male owner or a female owner, I have never spoken about that topic, so don't "

A reporter from the Los Angeles-based Examiner.com reached out to TV Aqui editor Saudy Rivera to ask if Martin himself had actually said that he is bisexual. Rivera said that he hadn't.

I think that only those are dating Ricky Martin really should care about his sexuality; for the rest of us, what does it matter that some pop singer we'll never meet is gay or not? Now, as far as homophobic and closeted politician who are voting against our civil rights? Damn right they should be outed. This is a totally different matter.

People it is the year 2009 and why should it matter at all if he is or isn't? People just need to mind their own business. Ricky Martin has done great things over the past few years with his charitable organizaion. I wish these so called reporters could print something nice for a change instead of peaking through bedroom windows. Ps I still think he his HOT!!!!!!

Oh come on. Just examine you're own coming out process. We all know what these nondenial denials and vague statements mean. Ricky Martin is gay. Straight people don't say shit like that. They just say, "I'm straight" and be done with it. Gay people are the ones who feel they have to confuse, deny or be vague. It all just means one thing: He's gay. It's just too bad that at this stage in Ricky's life, he's still feels that he cannot be honest.

Ok...Everyone who REALLY cares raise your hand. Now GO GET A LIFE ! If as a community THIS is what we focus on then we are in trouble. Ricky Martin coming out of a closet is the yawn of the century....ala Clay Akin. Now if he comes skipping out hand in hand with Vin Diesel or Jon Gosslin...then CALL ME....so I can call Kate! (Oh pleeezze....would you sleep with her?...He didn't...they were all "baster babies"). Cheers Queers

Oh Please - why is any space wasted on this. No one cares about his family problems that prevent him from coming out. He is a nobody. Let it go. No more space to this hasbeen.

Why does The Advocate think Martin has "inched toward the closet door" because Martin "could belong to a man or a woman."??? What, you're only coming out of the closet per your true sexuality if you're announcing as full blown gay, and everything else bi and het are "in the closet"?? There's only one choice for coming out?? That's absurd bias and just more heterophobic hate. Gee, maybe the idea that a practicing gay sexuality person indeed comes out of the closet when he/she admits they have developed heterosexual tendencies developed as they've matured and realized real Love trumps sexuality!
