After a long battle
with anal cancer, former
Charlie's Angels
star Farrah Fawcett passed away Thursday morning at St.
John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif. She was
62.
News reports had
suggested Fawcett had lost her battle with cancer. She was with
on-again, off-again partner Ryan O'Neal and friend Alana
Stewart at the time of her death.
Fawcett rose to fame in
the 1970s as the star of
Charlie's Angels
but established herself as a serious actress with critically
acclaimed turns in movies like
The Burning Bed.
The actress was
declared cancer-free in 2007, but three months later doctors at
the University of California, Los Angeles, medical center told
her the cancer had returned. Fawcett sought out experimental
treatments in Germany, but weeks ago it was reported she'd
stopped fighting her illness.
