Jackson Biographer: Michael Was Gay

Unauthorized Michael Jackson biographer and investigative celebrity reporter Ian Halperin has claimed in London's Daily Mail that the "king of pop" was gay and that Halperin had spoken to two of Jackson's former lovers.

Unauthorized Michael Jackson biographer and investigative celebrity reporter Ian Halperin has claimed in London's Daily Mail that the "king of pop" was gay and that Halperin had spoken to two of Jackson's former lovers.

Halperin, who predicted in December that Jackson had six months to live and is currently at work on a book on the final years of the pop star, said that rumors Jackson had sexually abused children are false. He had no interest in children, Halperin said.

But in the article, Halperin writes, "In the course of my investigations, I spoke to two of his gay lovers, one a Hollywood waiter, the other an aspiring actor. The waiter had remained friends, perhaps more, with the singer until his death last week. He had served Jackson at a restaurant, Jackson made his interest plain, and the two slept together the following night. According to the waiter, Jackson fell in love."

In 2006, Jackson's brother Jermaine said he and his brothers had suspected that Michael was gay.

I personally think that our sexuality shoudn´t be what identify us. It is who we are and what we do. MJ was a great performer that sadly had many important issues unsolved. But none us really know the truth of what happend behind close doors so we souldn´t judge him.

bernhart, garland, and jackson had a similar glamor. all 3 were electrifying performers, somehow androgynous. garland and jackson were both very self conscious and shamed for their looks from a very young age, which fed their addiction and self mutilation. jackson is in this illustrious line of performers. he wanted a face like katharine hepburn's. he wanted to transcend race and gender. before his look got grotesque, he got that right. he wanted to look like a cartoon character. not human. why not? his look in the "black or white" video is extraordinary. really look at him at his best and listen to his beautiful singing. this is what really matters to his legacy as an artist. not his private life and habits, which he manipulated for public consumption, and which made for good but ultimately sad press. you can't simplify this complex persona.

the genealogy went from sarah berhardt to judy garland to michael jackson. judy garland was a great influence on him. watch her moves in "swanee" in "a star is born". many parallels here. both stars before they were 10. both gifted. both addicts. both hounded. but this is not relevant to their output as artists. that's what aesthetics calls "the intentional fallacy". you must separate the work of art from the real life of the artist. his private life simply is not relevant to a discussion of his live performances and recordings. they have a life of their own. the public in the ugly tabloid world we live in can't get it. listen to the beauty and feeling of his voice. it's these recordings and the startling photographs of him after the first couple of rounds of plastic surgery (circa '82) that will ensure his immortality.

There is such a sad reluctance on the part of fans to accept their idol isn't a knight in shining armor. There is no doubt in my mind he was both a liar and serial pedophile. The fact that a team of high priced lawyers can throw reasonable doubt into a criminal case involving their star client means he walks not that he never molested kids. The innocent don't pay $24 million in hush money or have multiple boys sleep with them. The parents were no angels and I believe some but not all were motivated by money. Read reporter Linda Stasi's chilling account of what was done to shut up the parent of a previous Jackson case- who was a successful doctor. Jackson marriage to Lisa Marie (he claimed to be hot for her) was laughed at even by his supporters. He said he opposed homosexuality. A sad closet case has left the stage. Here we look at what it means to the gay rights struggle and having this ghoul linked to us is damaging. Please don't tell me he was a great singer.

To Dog: we don't "defend" ourselves when we are called homosexual. This is a gay rights website. Maybe the fans of this pedophile need to realize this and try elsewhere.. I'll bet his supporter posting here looks as great as his idol pictured above and has the same level of honesty. Look at that ugly face: here is "all in the family" what a deeply religious child molester family man who pays millions to the parents of kids looks like. We don't want it linked to gay.

If this was a serious article, at least one of the people claiming to have had a gay relationship with Michael Jackson would have been named. Or at the very least a reason would be given for their not being named. How can we take this article seriously without any real sources than an 'unauthorized biographer'? It is too easy to go after dead people because they cannot defend themselves. Can we please have some serious journalism here? Is that too much to ask for?

Funny how homophobes say being gay isn't important when we are on a gay political website, it is always important when they discriminate against us. PS- thumbs down on the ghoul pictured above
