Almost no one likes to be labeled by someone else. So, The Identity Project explores the labels we use when defining our own gender and sexuality.
It is San Francisco-based freelance portrait photographer Sarah Deragon's hope of photographing hundreds of LGBT folks in the Bay Area, and maybe to turn the images into a coffee table book after traveling to locations across the United States to document LGBT communities.
Deragon will be shooting portraits for The Identity Project all year. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday she is posting new portraits on The Identity Project's Facebook Page and also on The Identity Project's Instagram account. A new website for the project recently launched, too. If you have questions, please email her at [email protected]. Also, see her other great work at portraitstothepeople.com.
